Was Alvarado a Mexican plant?

Dude has been beyond useless the whole tournament, yet somehow gets major minutes. Looked like he was wasting more time than Jamaica the last ten. Flat-footed and ball-watching on the goal that wasn't Guzan's fault.
If he's the best we can do at CB, we may not be in Russia anyway.

I think Beckerman was a Jamaican plant - makes sense with the dreadlocks and his shitty play

Yeah. Beckerdreads was much worse than Alvarado was tonight.

Beckerman and Alvarado need to sit the benh
Honestly the whole defense is pretty shitty

Can someone tell me what Alvarado did to earn the start over Besler, Ream, Gonzalez, etc.?
Alvarado didn't lose his mark for a goal on a corner kick though. Brooks did.

Alvarado and Brooks were both bad tonight. And most of the tourney.
Besler, Omar, and Cameron are where the D is.

Were y'all watching the same game I was? Alvarado played pretty well. Safe, no doubt, but didn't have any mistakes. John Brooks on the other hand...yikes.
Alvarado played decent over the entire tournament, I don't get all the hate.

It was actually a throw-in, which is worse.
For a guy as big as he is, Brooks gets beaten for goals in the air too easily. Think back to when we played the Netherlands. Huntelaar owned him.

A. It was a throw
B. It's hard to lose a mark when you're not marking anyone. At all.

You must have missed him getting beaten 1v1 badly in every group game he played in
But yes the throw in goal is on Brooks. No reason why a man his size can't get Mattocks off the spot and make it difficult for him to elevate and get that ball

Everyone keeps saying that, but he was right on his man each time. Your not going to steal the ball each time. Sometimes you just have to stick with your man and make it difficult for them to get a shot off.
Honduras and Panama goals were his fault...but he played decent other than that....certainly played well enough in the jamaica game.

A. He didn't mark anyone on the first goal
B. He got turned at least once every match
C. His touch and passing is terrible
D. His positioning is laughable (I might blame Jurgy for this one, as this could be said for almost all of the players)

Brooks mark scored...Alvarado was likely responsible for someone coming into the box. Either way, it was Brooks' man. Not Alvarado's fault.

That happens all the time. His group stage wasn't the best, but once knockout stage came, looked much better.

Better than Brooks and Gonzalez.

What I think you are trying to say is that because Alvarado was near someone is what really matters, despite getting beaten several times and making Guzan have to come in and try to make a save. If that's correct, then you don't understand defense.

Brooks looks completely out of it sometimes. That easy pass that he let go out of bounds was pathetic
