maybe golf polos look like some collared soccer jerseys?

Jersey looks pretty sharp to me. I prefer a collarless jersey, but by no means do I think jersey's with collars are dumb. I own plenty of em. I give it a B- and will probably buy it depending on what the situation is with our other jerseys.

jerseys have had that look for years but the modern one is just more fitting to the body

does anyone remember golf polo's in the 80's and 90's

Its a clean and professional look. Its a soccer jersey with a throw back look and the comforts of modern clothing.

I get it. Most of this board has never worn a soccer jersey. It will not feel like a golf/tennis polo, just a fact.

That's okay. I've worn enough for those that haven't. You're talking out of your arse.

Just like baggy flannel isn't the medium of choice for a baseball jersey anymore, collar and buttons isn't it for soccer jerseys.

Nike.screwed the pooch on this one.

I think people are afraid that if they purchase and wear the jersey out, others won't acknowledge their status as a hipster football fan.

I just think it looks like it belongs on a golf course instead of a soccer field. I wasn't even planning on buying one if I liked it. Would rather stick with any of the kits we've worn over the past 6 years or so.

I don't think this is our worst kit ever because we've had some awful ones in the past, but I wouldn't put it in my top 10 favorites.

I love posters who think they know how everyone else is and can speak in broad generalizations with so much confidence.

You have never played the game in your life, and selected your favorite team based on a video game.

I get it. It's fine, I'm glad the sport is growing. But to say it doesn't look like a soccer jersey is pure ignorance.

Opinions -> assholes, etc.

My opinion:

Collar: not ideal, but it can work (Chelsea's white/navy/yellow from a couple of years ago)

Buttons: less ideal, but maybe tolerable (Red Bull from last year)

Collars PLUS Buttons? Still a golf shirt.

Can we see a list of other nations and clubs that have used this design combination recently?

I've played on some sort of team every year since I was five. Find another troll, this one ain't gonna work.

(I took the comma out of this quote since you don't need it. Compound verb, not compound sentence.)

And yes, I did select my favorite team based on a video game...when I was in elementary school. I've admitted that, and I really don't care, either. I was a kid.

Jed was doing this before there was even a World Cup board. That's what was for. And it seems to have worked for him.

Also, I wish it didn't have buttons, but I still think it looks nice. I'll be getting one, unless the away is better, and will be wearing it with pride.

But, will there be no numbers on the front, as seen here? If so, that is one thing I am disappointed with...
