The USSF is going outside of the box here and if it doesn't work, it'll set soccer back further here than anything Bruce, Jurgen or Gulati did.
How?

full strength squad

Who are our best for a “full strength squad” that aren’t on this list?
Pulisic and who else?

Jozy is still our best striker. If Sargent can get moved up to Werder's senior squad, he'd probably take Novakovich's spot. Guzan would have to be on the team. Nagbe. Bradley would probably still be around. Maybe not as a starter, but he's still one of the 3 best defensive mids.

I agree with you, but still having trouble seeing this as not the "baby" squad.

@pvilleguru what about Gooch he has been tearing it up of late? Shouldn't he be part of this call up best available?
How does MLS compare to League One?

I've never watched a League One match, but I would give the edge to MLS.

As for Gooch, I'd rather give Gall, Sabbi, or Amon a call up just because we haven't seen them. We've seen Gooch with the national team and he's always just been "ok".

Regardless, I don't see Gooch as an automatic player on the best 23 roster.

So happy that Lichaj is in the squad. Gutted that we sold him to Hull. Will always be a legend in Nottingham.

Julian Green led us to a draw against the World Cup winners, his inclusion is all that matters.

What the hell does Reggie Cannon have to do to earn a call up?

It took far too long for him to get regular inclusion, especially considering he could play LB for us. His goal against Arsenal in the cup was incredible. I don't know why Jurgen and then Bruce never called him up.

I think the brass want to keep DS and they’re hoping they can justify their decision with a good showing in these upcoming friendlies.

After the 2011 Gold Cup, I thought for sure he was our answer at left back for the 2014 and 2018 cycles. If Dolo doesn't get hurt in that final against Mexico, Lichaj stays at LB, Bornstein never gets in the match, and we win.

The injury right after that tournament killed all of his momentum.

Nice to see tSB appreciates Lichaj as well, last weekend one of the first things a good friend (I hadn’t seen in a while) and I talked about was how Lichaj is our favorite player in our lifetimes to never get a fair shake on USMNT

Really want Zardes to show some of his MLS form in these games
