Our backline has a lot of promise. We really need those young guys to get to continue to improve and someone, for the sake of all things good, beat out Robinson.

Hopefully we see Pierre, Richards, and Freeman start against Mexico.

Close… our staff needs to work on forgetting Miles is an American.

Mex will bring the heat
Fact.
Back to the back line… I feel like all the talking heads are being harsh on Pierre, primarily talking about his giveaways. The guy didn’t really put a foot wrong at all defensively, didn’t look out of his league when passing or being closed on, and put in some good passes that cut their midfield in half. He also had a pass or two lobbed over the top. Chile really couldn’t pressure him because they knew he was looking for those from a very early point in the match.
Did a few of those passes not work out and start something for Chile in the middle? Sure, but are we going to hold that against a really young player in his first start that is bringing and honing an element that only one other player in the pool (Richards) has?
For my part, I want Pierre playing every match he can alongside Richards and Freeman. That kid is the future RCB for the USMNT. I like Trusty, but he puts himself in bad positions and can’t pass very well, short or long.
