I just tuned in. Jesus. Are you fricking kidding me?

People who wonder why soccer never takes off in the United States... take note...

THIS IS WHY.

Year after year, we flop on the sport's biggest stages.

I've never seen a U.S. team in ANYTHING that's as consistently embarassing as our men's soccer teams.

Don't give me the argument that we don't have the resources or the manpower. The whole goddamn country bought into the youth sports soccer cult DECADES ago.

The problem is that we accept mediocrity, and we're happy with it. We just play "our traditional role" and are TOO comfortable with it.

Play like AMERICANS for a change. fricking pansies.

And I LOVE soccer. I watch our national team. I'm not a hater. But I look at this team and wonder what country they come from. Seriously.

That could only matter if Slovenia beats England, which they won't, and we beat Algeria by 5 goals, which we won't.

I mean that the skill level of each team is about the same.

Alexi is right, Torres is playing too deep. If he's going to play that deep, Landon needs to move to the center and HOlden to the right.

So far, in our last 4.5 WC games, we have been outscored 9-3. That is embarrassing enough. What's even more embarrassing is that 2 out of those 3 goals were pure luck (own goal v Italy and Dempsey/Green goal). We have no wins in this time frame and this trend looks to hold firm here.

I love the World Cup, but I hate USA soccer. It amazes me how much better the other teams look compared to us. I was hoping this was going to be our year.....

I did like the sign I saw in the stands: "If this is football, where is the Quarterback?"

If Altidore's shot wouldn't have hit post against England, this deficit would be so much easier to stomach.

these 2 goals were definitely team fail efforts

yes. About a minute before the first goal I told my brother we were going to get scored on early playing the way we were playing. The whole team had a shite mindset at the beginning.

Finally we started attacking. That second goal sucks but it was just a good play by them. The firs goal is the one that really bothers me.

We can get back in this if we keep attacking. We had a good 5 minutes there where we were knocking on the door and almost had it. This game is not over.

This is just another typical US flop in the World Cup. I really don't understand why they waste their time trying to qualify for a tournament if they're not going to show up for it.

does it hurt even more because of the fact that we're America and there's no team that countries would rather beat than us?

Unless Landon proves something different in this half, we can go ahead and end the fantasy that he's an elite player.
