USA is taking on Paraguay in a soccer match in the a big soccer tournament, the COPA America Century. This is a great chance for the USA to prove itself on the world stage and great preparation for the World Cup. I think the USA wins this one easily being we are a much larger country and should easily handle up on such a small (population) country such as Paraguay. Did not see any other threads on this game on the soccer board. Is this not a big game for USA soccer fans? Game is at 6pm Saturday on Fox Sports

Going to watch my boy Shani Tarashaj in the morning, watch three lions in their warmup game in the afternoon, and then USA get out of the group tomorrow night.

I guess we should be one of the favorites in 2018.

I try to be welcoming when people are inquisitive. I'm not nice when people who never post come in and say things like "Michael Bradley is the worst USMNT player."

I'm the same. But then we get called elitist and accused of not wanting new fans to come to the sport

I just avoid the frick out of this board during the World Cup, which is kind of sad because I think most of you figs are pretty cool and I enjoy the (super duper totally not intelligent) conversation on here.

USA is a 2 1/2 point favorite to win this match on Bovado. Also on the money line, USA is even to win outright and Paraguay is +260, with +260 for a draw.

USA is sitting at +1800 (means bet $100 to win $1800) to win the whole thing.
Surprisingly Argentina (+115) is the biggest favorite even over Brazil (+600). Mexico is the second betting favorite at (+450) with Columbia (+700) and Chili (+1000) also favored over the USA.

I'm no expert, or even knowledgeable in any sort of way, but Brazil sure looks good at +600

USA advances to the quarter finals with a win or a draw today while Paraguay advances with a win so a lot on the line for both teams. IMO a loss today would be a big setback for USA soccer in their march to be relevant on the world stage. If they want to be taken seriously as a legitimate soccer power country they need to win these kinds of matches.
