At least we’re not Mexico.

What the frick did i just watch
A Gold Cup match with an MLS-dominant USMNT team.

Our A team is much better, so all good bruh
I want to believe this but just can’t. I can’t remember the last dominant performance we had in a meaningful match against a nation someone can actually point to on a map.
I’m glad the optimists are here because it would be very lame if everyone had the same take on here. I hope I’m wrong.

Not sure what there isn’t to be high on about Busio. Looked really good for a 19 year old
He gets lost a lot for SKC

I’m not even that high on Busio but he’s better than Yueill in every single facet
Why aren't you high on Busio?

Well other than Mexico, we haven’t played a match like that since losing to Belgium in 2014

We just won a street fight against Mexico's A team with a bunch of teenagers. It wasn't dominant, but how many games with evenly match sides has that?

He seemed to always be in the right space while he was on tonight.
Physical, too, despite his frame.
And that rocket strike…

He’s fricking learning a new position, he looks to have all the tools you need, can we give him a little time?

But that's true for every academy in the world. This isn't something exclusive to MLS. And we already knew going into this there were only a handful of hot prospects and a bunch of MLS lifers.
In the big nations those second tier players are still much better
That’s why their domestic leagues are better
It’s a big reason why the standard and quality of play in the championship is so good

With the amount of money and pool of players US Soccer has at their disposal
You can’t be serious.
Yes. I get in the US we lose many athletes to football, basketball and more popular national sports.
Im saying even with that, we should be able to field 20-30 players that can rival even traditional powerhouse countries.
The mismanagement by US Soccer development is so bad, we're basically trying to do on the job training.

Didn’t realise USA Soccer fans were like the Astro MSB nut jobs

No need to melt
We just watched a bunch of young MLS players who will spend their entire career in the league play a group game in a tournament that is essentially meaningless now
No need to hate on Gregg which is usually warranted or the players

Vines
No

Williamson
Highly unlikely without an injury to others.

Turner
Nope. Not good enough in the back.

He's solidly in the group fighting to get that last CB spot. Especially with Long still out for some time.

There are a lot of reasons why we can't do that.

Saying I’m. It currently high on a player makes me a nut job?
Interesting

I see we have some diehard down voters.
Please, emerge from the shadows and tell me why you disagree and why any serious fan should be okay with mediocrity.

There’s your answer to what is going on right now.
This is OJT for the MLS players in a league you just admitted has done a poor job until very recently of talent development.
That’s exactly why we can’t:

This isn’t other sports. Soccer is far more technical and tactically involved than any other sport out there.
