I am.

And it is not complacency in mediocrity. It is understanding limitations and operating within them. Figure it out.

I’d also argue there were some positives to take away from the loss to Switzerland. We didn’t play that great but hung around with them. Basically the same team went on to eliminate France and almost Spain.

I know. A loss is a loss and it was a friendly. But it’s not like Switzerland is a total slouch on the world stage. There’s certainly things to be optimistic about (albeit cautiously)

If you consider Dest as a possible LB, then Vines and Bello are fighting for 3rd string.

I don’t, but for the sake of argument I’ll give you that.

Won't take more than 1 or 2 injuries

So… as I said.

We need 3 GKs per roster. After Steffen/Horvath, who's #3? Turner.

Nope. With a young roster, Guzan will go for locker room reasons.

He's solidly in the group fighting to get that last CB spot. Especially with Long still out for some time.

Robinson is behind Miazga, Zimmerman, and McKenzie.

Shouldn't matter. We're playing semi finalists from the last Gold Cup.

FIFY

that 2019 Haiti Gold Cup team won a group that consisted of Costa Rica, Bermuda, & Nicaragua

and held Mexico scoreless all the way into extra time in that semifinal... and only lost on a PK in the 93rd minute

Costa Rica... the team that finished 2nd to Haiti in that group... took Mexico to PKs in the quarterfinal only for Mexico to advance 5-4 in 6 rounds of PKs

I still want to know what Gregg sees in Lewis. Because he’s the only one who sees it, even the Rapids don’t see it.

If you don't, then that means Vines and Bello are fighting for 2nd string.

And injuries are regular occurrences. We had a shite ton of injuries during the last cycle, and Long/Morris are currently sidelined with major injuries.

We're just going to disagree on that one. I think Guzan is barely the #3 GK on this roster, and that doesn't include Steffen, Horvath, and Ochoa.

I do think he's behind McKenzie and maybe Zimmerman, but I think he's battling with Miazga.

Robinson is only behind them because ATL hasn’t released him until now. Good performances like tonight can move him up quickly, IMO.

Miazga is ahead of Zimmerman…

Not sure how anyone could be certain of that. Didn’t we recently see Ream get a bunch of minutes and Miazga not sniff the field?

Also, any of the MLS guys have a leg up on getting called in if there's an injury/suspension in the 1st or 2nd game of each window just because they are already in North America.

Miazga saw all of 1 minute over the 3 games.

He was selected for the roster. Zimmerman was not.

And it looks like he didn't do himself any favors.

Switzerland are a solid team and Shaqiri comes out as prime Ronaldo half of the time.

I also forgot about the Mexico game. That was a badass and impressive win by the Gregg and the boys.

With this roster I guess this would be best for the next match

—————Turner
Moore-Zimmerman-Robinson-Vines
—————-Busio
———-Acosta Lletget
——Gioachinni-Dike-Zardes

I can’t believe we have no legitimate wing options in the squad.

The problem with Dike being on this roster is that he needs good wing play to run off of and provide him service.

It really is an unfortunate for him because the strongest facet of our a-team is on the wings.
