5 minutes in and Johnny has a yellow card already. He's going to fit in perfectly in CONCACAF.

This ref really didn't want to be here. No stoppage time for either half.

They played hard. That’s all I got. This was like a wales B or C team.

ETA: There was zero creativity or movement in the final third. They looked like Tottenham last year when Kane was out injured, because they didn’t have a focal point in the center

I’d give it a B. Good to see them going at Wales and always look to move the ball forward systematically instead of just kicking the shite out of the ball.

Weston, Dest, Brooks all looked great. Musah looked good too, Reyna tried to force it, and I liked the work Adams did.

Dest and Weston got A+

Defense got a B+

Pulisic would have been a game changer there.

Happy with what I saw tbh

A lot to be excited about even with a 0-0 draw.

They care. That's probably the biggest thing. Been a while since we've seen a team that fights.

This team has a lot of promise with Dest, McKennie, Adams, Reyna etc. With Pulisic and Sargent we win that game.

Weston looked fantastic, but I feel like he was trying to do a little too much towards the end.

Sargent

Meh, I don't think he would've been a bigger improvement than what Lletget provided as a false 9.

He still has a lot of work to do.

Two things:

1. The fact that we looked the better team, controlled the game despite having little training was awesome. That can't be overlooked at all.

2. We need to throw the full court press on Musah.

I like how Stu Holden just put Lalas in his place. I don't know what game Lalas was watching. That wasn't traditional blue collar/work hard opportunities the US has traditionally been trying to create (outside the last 4-5 years) .... this was a creative team that high pressed and took the game to Wales.

Yeah, I think some people give Lalas too much shite, but he was way off there.

Agreed. I really like Lalas actually but he was overly critical today. Does he forget we have a bunch of U-20s on the field?

I mean, when have we ever put a high press on the road and didn't play to counter?

In years past, that was a match where we would come out looking to absorb all the pressure and try to score on a counter or set piece.
