A. I am a blast to hang out with.

Some obviously would disagree

B. Not everybody wants to watch the game from the student section at the LSU game - it's okay to like it, it's okay to buy tickets in another part of the arena and enjoy the game.

Yea, but earlier you used it with a very negative connotation. You were implying things about if you were over 22 and sitting there...

quote:

If you want me to say it's okay to call Mexicans racist names because they're sitting near you - sorry. That shite SHOULD be called out. You can give them every level of shite without being a bigoted frick.

When did I say it was ok? In fact, I said they should NOT. The whole point of this was that we have these bleeding hearts crying over it. I don't do it, but I've been called so many names and given so much shite, that I really don't care if others are doing it.

I was with an army officer in Brazil, and before the Germany game, they started a "Back to Back, World War Champs" chant. He didn't take part in it, and me and a few others didn't because people dying in war isn't funny...but it's shite talk. I don't condemn others for their beliefs. Freedom of Speech, hombre

Don't want to start a thread and don't want to read this whole thing so sorry if it's been discussed

But....are we 1 win away from likely playing Argentina in the Houston semifinal? I live here and there are still tickets only for $120 so I'm trying to think about the risk of buying them now compared to what they would be once the public knows it's USA vs Messi. That ticket would prob triple in prices

What time's the game, and where are you finding tickets? Houston isn't a long drive.

I went to the 2014 World Cup with the Outlaws. I was 28 at the time and it was one of the most fun experiences of my life. I sat directly behind the goal that Jermaine Jones had the goal of the tourney...I also sat in seat 1 across the aisle from the Portuguese. You have any idea the shite I was called? They tried to get us kicked out because we stood up...it didn't even block their view.

Or the Ghana game we had a group of Mexicans come to the game just to talk shite, and of course I ended up by them. I was called a punto a hundred times in 2 hours. Didn't respond to them one time, but they made my night absolutely miserable

Sucks about the dickhead fans, but that sounds like an awesome experience. Who comes to a game that doesn't involve your team just to talk shite to one team's fans? that's some concacaf mexico level bullshite right there. Piscinin is probably the appropriate soccerboard parallel.

And yeah, as a foreign fan you will get treated better here in the US than just about any other country. It's the unfortunate nature of sports, and soccer in particular, that it attracts the lowest common denominator.
