Yeah he is the hustle guy who occasionally produces a goal or assist. Definitely has a role for us.

This is what happens when the manager wants to "experiment" with formations. We always look like shite and it never works. Thats what drove us crazy with Jurgy and apparently GB wants us to hate him too.

Can we just pick an identity and move the frick on

A number of these guys are the supposed next generation and they have essentially done frick all despite numerous opportunities.

Yep. He can help in CONCACAF matches, but will never be "the guy" on a big stage. A decent guy to have on the bench to finish games.

I like Arriola. Not as a starter but I think he has a role coming off the bench.

This is clearly an experimental lineup with new players. I don’t think the point of this game is to play the same lineup

Wait...

Are you using this one friendly as a referendum on US Soccer as a whole?

Bold strategy, Cotton.

I like his pace. Haven’t been too impressed otherwise

I could be way out of line here. I can’t watch near as much soccer as I once did. It just seems like the MLS makes players play slower. The European based players just play at a different pace.

Dude it’s been this way for last year minus the France game.

Our 3 best players of "the next generation" aren't playing tonight (Steffen would probably be #4).

The only ones I can think of are Miazga, Steffen, and Sargent.

None of them have been good, but they’re also not the reason we’re losing.

I’m fine with it in games like tonight with a random group of players. It becomes a problem when it starts happening in games that matter.

And that defeats the purpose of seeing what they can do. If you throw out a different formation and they are clearly lost, how can you judge them if it isn't even the normal formation/tactics.

And only 1 of them is the best prospect at their position of their generation.
