Reynolds needs to be smarter there

I think for all the shite Gregg deserved in 2019, he deserves credit for how much he has changed in 2020-21.
Fair is fair.
He hasn’t faced anyone legit the last year to actually test real progression
If we do this vs the better sides and get punished then it’s time to adapt the system to the players strong suits

I was stupidly passing up pussy as a wee lad to watch La Liga. I know the game pretty well and it’s frustrating to see too many red white and blue glasses being used when watching the US.

He didn't face anyone legit for the most part in 2019 either and we looked like arse.
If you can't see the improvements this team has made in the time since, I don't know what to tell you.

Again... we played an XI with Tim Ream, Matt Miazga and Kellyn Acosta today.

I’m excited to see how we do vs Mexico and he better national teams
Hopefully we play some of the Euro sides for the Euro tune ups and to get us ready for the gold cup
Maybe get a shot at a South American side too

I agree with this. We certainly have more individual contributors but we’re yet to see them challenged.

First win against European competition in 6 years. Wow.

Jesus Christ can we stop the pissing contest and just enjoy the victory and how some of the new guys did?

Two major factors
Our best generation of technical players coming through and playing sub par competition
My only grip is playing a system that we are not built for and we could excel playing a different way. The real test on improvement is coming. So I’m not calling for his head like in 2019

Pulisic really needs to work on his finishing.
Commentators seem positive overall about the new formation and the progress under Gregg.
Guess they don’t understand the game on a micro level

If you say Robinson has a little Zardes in him you got to say the same about Dike.

We looked fantastic going forward once we got in their third
We look bad trying to handle their press and should have been punished for it
It’s a reason for concern

Bruh, you are not part of the cheerleading team. I agree with you. My frustration is ANY good manager regardless of the opponent will attack the weak area of the opponent. It’s great we are wanting to play out of the back which I enjoy watching.......but if a team is gonna recklessly press you, you have to play more direct. That is my frustration. These are the games to practice how to counter when a team is trying to take away what you want to do.

Haven’t seen enough of Dike really other than highlights, but yeah I wouldn’t be surprised by that.

You will defend him at all cost
Progression vs who? The sister of the poor
There’s been no one to test him since 2019

Shouldn't experimentation be what friendlies are for?
Since January Camp of 2020, Gregg made the (correct) change from the lame 4-4-2 low block to a 4-3-3 high press. We have the talent and the depth to do that now. So I think he is gradually trying to accentuate the strength of his best players. He tried that today with Dest at RWB, didn't work out.
shite happens.
But again, I think we look a lot more competent out the back if Brooks is in the middle for Miazga or on the left for Ream and Adams or McKennie is in for Acosta.
