Easiest draw for Ireland is still incredibly tough.
Croatia, Iceland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Azerbaijan, San Marino.
Toughest group that is possible: Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Cyprus, Kazakhstan. Rough.

Easiest Pot 1, imo, is Romania.
Scotland fricked themselves with the Qatar friendly. Would have been pot 2 without it.

Israel in Asia would be a nightmare. Imagine them playing Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iran, or Saudi Arabia. Regardless of where you stand on the Israeli issue...that's a bad idea.
But yeah, Kazakhstan should definitely be in Asia. Not sure why they even want Europe--they'd have a much better time in Asia.

When the Soviet Union first fell apart, Kazakhstan was in Asia. It wasn't until 2000 when they became a candidate member for UEFA. Obviously there were some politics involved in the decision. Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan are all still AFC members and Kazakhstan seems like a better fit with those nations, but they chose the European route.

So, how do they balance out points with 2 groups having less teams? Is the determination for worst second place team points/games played?
