Watching on t.v., the US team looked nothing like the World Champion team they have been. I know it was a friendly but they just seemed to not be able to get out of their own way.

I'm not even sure that all or most of it was trying to get Wambach a goal in her last game. (Though they did look a bit sharper after she went off). Maybe they went party too soon - as in before the game instead of after.

They did Route 1 to Wambach strategy and it is quite worthless. Nothing more. It is quite obvious that she became a liability to the team. Thank goodness she's retired.

Does anyone have a shot of the disallowed goal? Was it offside? I was there and didn't look so to me but I very well could be wrong

As for the actual game, I said the exact thing to my wife after the first 15 minutes about us forcing it to Abby. It was painful at times. After Morgan went down we lacked any creativity until Press came on. Dunn's first 10 minutes were absolutely atrocious until she settled in. That game was the definition of smash and grab

Especially the first half, everyone was trying to get the ball to her, which is fine. She tired pretty quickly and after 20 mins roughly she was falling down constantly. I went and it was actually pretty cool to be there. Friendly match, meant nothing, and was a nice send off.

As far as being a liability, she was not productive at all the last couple years and playing time decreased accordingly. I don't think she was a liability really but definitely didn't contribute.

They started her up until WC quarterfinals. I don't call that decreasing playing time accordingly. It was all about getting Abby that elusive WC star and her presence was a major liability. I know they tried to get her the glory, but dammit we would wouldn't be having this victory tour if Jill Ellis didn't yank her to the bench.

I didn't realize she started that far along. I agree for sure she needed to be benched and glad she was.

Ya, it was that bad. Attack was anemic. When she went to the bench, holy shite did they really attack.

That was pretty funny when she was giving her speech at the end and goes "Whatever you do in life give it your all... and Bourbon Street, Watch Out!" then drops the mic.

i'm 100% confident that my sunday league team would be that US team that played last night.

Oh there's a men's league team in Lafayette that would beat the U.S. Women's team 7 times out of 10 easily.
