Davies was headed to Celtic in the summer supposedly. That gives you an idea of his current level.

Yeah, but VVD was at Celtic... he's not young, but he's not quite yet in his prime... I definitely believe he's more of a stop gap, but may end up being a good 4th option... He plays the left side, so when VVD gets back to full fitness, next season, we prob won't be relying on him too much...

The writing is on the wall with Kabak, with Mustafi seemingly confirmed to Schalke... the remaining question is will we bring in a third???

I really want to see Fabinho and Hendo back in midfield..

VVD wasn’t great when he arrived at Celtic. Scottish league is equivalent to the championship with rangers and Celtic being slightly better. If Davies was better than that level mid table or lower table teams would have been trying to sign him.

If he develops at all, should be able to get the money back. If he turns into klavan, you’re probably happy with that too.

Yeah, Burnley was...

Anyway, I think we're saying roughly the same thing... I'm not under the impression that we've unearthed a future international class player, but I'm hoping he can do the job and turn into a solid fourth choice type player... There's very little risk on our part here.. Here's a pretty get thread (w/videos) on twitter... a few against City Davies - Twitter Thread

Kabak as well... the initial outlay is peanuts with no obligation to buy..

All in all, given we waited to the 11th hour... It looks like we have a stop gap for the short term and still have the ability to properly assess the CB situation in the summer...

Also, Kabak and Davies have to be in awe right now... coming from BuLi bottom dwellers and mid-table championship to a title fight in the EPL...

shite, considering our best CB pairing right now is Fab and Hendo this is fantastic business during COVID. If these guys pan out we can buy or not. It’s costing us next to nothing for the rest of the season to hopefully stop this bleeding at the back. The most important thing is if we can somehow get Fab and Hendo back in the MF with Thiago.

Anddd right on cue, Matip done for the season with an ankle ligament injury... Soo I'm guessing at least Fab stays in the back unless we think Kabak and Davies is a partnership that we can win with

We should’ve sold Matip for a handsome profit. Dude is glass

But at least now you can move Hendo back to the MF... Hendo, Thiago, Gini/Millie/Keita is not awful honestly

Minamino off to Southampton for the rest of the season. Explains why we’ve seen divock lately. Also makes room in league roster for the two centerbacks

I reckon thats most likely curtains for Minamino at LFC... he seemed to be a nice player, but without a real position in the way we currently play...

Damn really had high hopes for him, hopefully he finds success at Southampton and rebuilds his own stock. He was always high energy when on but never really impactful. Does that mean Origi is sticking around or think he goes elsewhere? Feel like our midfield is stacked (with healthy CB’s) and players like Ox and Shaq can step in to an Origi/Minamino role.

He should have been sold after the UCL season while his stock was high(er)...

We are shite. Back to back home losses to bottom of the table sides without scoring a goal. No goals at anfield in the last 3.

I mean, figure it out here Jurgen. FFS.

Fab and Hendo CB’s again. This is not working.

Working thus far, 28’ in...

I am starting to think Gini is gone because we trust Curtis Jones and will be bringing in either Mbappe, Alaba, or both this summer.

That would also explain not getting a more legit option at CB right now.
