I think part of that is Fab and Henderson not being in the MF. Fab at DM provides a ton of interceptions that transition us pushing up the pitch. I think we sorely miss Jota and I would love to see Keita and Thiago together. I concur that it might be time to cash in on Mo but I think Haaland is more likely than Mbappe. Bobby is my favorite player but as much as it sucks his form has been off for a bit now.

He’s hurt. Now Nat Phillips is coming on. Guess we’ll see if someone else is hurt.

Great win. Felt like we dominated most of that game. Literally have no fit CB’s...and really not anyone interesting available on the transfer market. Wouldn’t be surprised if Klopp rolls with Nat.

ESPN reporting Liverpool is considering Aaron Long on loan from NY Red Bulls. Interesting option.

Not sure ESPN qualifies as any tier for us. I’ll sit tight until Pearce makes a mention.

JP said this morning that we are working on several options and that he expects something done before the window shuts. No names but at least they got something in the works.

Liverpool agree to transfer fee for Preston Center Back Ben Davies

Liverpool have agreed a £2 million fee with Preston North End to sign centre back Ben Davies, report James Pearce and Adam Crafton.

The deal sees Liverpool’s 19-year-old defender Sepp van den Berg head to Preston on loan.

Liverpool had been eager to sign a defender ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho all out injured. Davies, 25, was out of contract at the end of the season and had been close to joining Scottish Premiership champions Celtic

We aren't done yet. Let's see if we can another one over the line before the window shuts.

So, Davies is in for sure...

When I first heard yesterday, I thought it was the Spurs player... I know nothing about him, but he seems to be well regarded by PNE. If nothing else, he seems like he can be cheap stop gap that we could sell on for profit. Maybe he ends up being a good player... I like that he is left footed..

The three that seem to be in motion right now are:

Ozan Kabak (all journos now saying loan with OPTION to buy, not obligation)
Duje Caleta-Car
David Carmo

IMO, DCC seems like the one that would be most ready to step in... should be uninteresting day. That said, Kabak on loan would allow us to properly assess our options over the summer...

edit: I'd be happy with any of them

Pearce said DDC ain’t happening fwiw

Any idea if we can put new signings on our champions league roster? I know Nat Phillips isn’t on the roster which is obviously worrisome

Davies was headed to Celtic in the summer supposedly. That gives you an idea of his current level.

A Preston fan on Reddit said this about him:

quote:

"Left footed CB, rapid, covers ground do easily, calm with and without the ball, good ball progressor via passing, doesn’t dribble to break lines as much however it’s something he’s improving. Speed and reading of the game make him a v good CB. Lacking physicality."

Ive seen this one bounce back and forth from last night to this morning... Pearce said about an hour ago "I Believe So" in response to being asked if it was off...

Good question... no clue
