Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara have gone for scans on suspected knee injuries following the incidents involving Jordan Pickford and Richarlison.

#LFC have tonight asked the Premier League for an explanation over the use of VAR in the Goodison derby.
They want clarification over why Pickford wasn't sent off, what part of Mane's body was deemed offside and the selection of the freeze frame for that decision.

And if Thiago is out for any length of time, there goes one of the reasons we could use Fabinho as 4th CB...

Just finished watching, and I usually don't wish ill of anyone, but I hope Pickford gets bulldozed and misses most of the rest of the season

I’m still mad. frick Everton. Never liked Richarlson and Pickford is a shitty goalie. May the luck of Kepa find him swiftly.

Following surgery, Virgil will begin a rehabilitation programme to enable him to reach full fitness as soon as possible.

You'll come back stronger,
@VirgilvDijk

I personally think Gomez and Matip are good enough to keep us in the title race on ability... but 2 senior CBs for Domestic/European comps is crazy... Obviously we'll see Fabinho back there, but I still think we're best with him at the 6...

Ive always though we've rode our luck being incredibly thin at different positions during Klopp's time, we shall see... getting a CB in this Jan has to be a priority.. though I wouldn't be surprised if we didnt

On a positive note, Thiago not thought to be serious and AB is ahead of schedule to return..

Aren't there 2 or 3 real young guys that Klopp was high on? Maybe they get some time (at least as subs?) in the next few weeks.

BTW - which does everyone see as more likely?

1. Matip and Gomez are both healthy through January

2. Decent stretch of time (at least 3 weeks) where BOTH Matip and Gomez have "knocks" and can't play at the same time.

Incoming Gini and Fab CB partnership (assuming Hendo, Thiago, Ox, etc. are healthy enough for a 3 person midfield).

Zero chance of title this season. I'm just hoping we can make Champions League for next season.

Koumetio/Williams are the ones we're highest on... van den Berg is another.. but all of them are very green...

Nathaniel Phillips is another body, but he's 23 and probably going to be sold..
