Seriously. Is anyone kidding? Dude went down like a bitch 3 seconds after the fact and Sadie made a WC move to score. Has no affect on the goal.

There is really no debate. Don’t make soccer pussy. If you’re 2 on 1 and get bitched like that, you deserve it. It’s a goal all day, and id say the same if Pukki did it.

Agreed.

It’s spilled milk at this point anyway. Give us a draw and it just delays the inevitable but trying to take a world class goal away from a weak arse defender falling down is gross to me. That’s not the game.

Offense has the advantage. Sack up and don’t get beat. And bow your head when someone makes a miracle turn like that and clap your hands. Which Mane did. Don’t ruin the game.

I've re-watched it several times now and there is no doubt that the defender felt the contact and chose to give an Academy Award performance, very likely giving the VAR official every reason to wave off any form of foul even if he was prone to do so initially.

Been rewatching highlights from the unbeaten streak. It really is unbelievable how good we’ve been. The 72-10 bulls is the only thing that I can really compare it to off the top of my head. This will go down as an historically great team regardless, but I do hope we can finish unbeaten in the premiere league first and repeat in the champions league. I think we’re clearly the best team on the planet and barring injuries should make the final. I don’t see a side winning a two legged tie. Perhaps we’ll get some sweet revenge against Real Madrid.

Just trying to soak it all in boys. It’s harder to appreciate in the moment than in hindsight. I realize many of my red brothers here hate Alabama football, but the runs seem similar. I now realize after the fact that the sheer domination is over. I feel I didn’t enjoy it enough while it was going on. The competition has caught up, as it will eventually do with Liverpool. I think we are set up for a decade of competing, but urge everyone to enjoy the dominance while it lasts. YNWA. We support the best club on the planet boys

ETA: I expect everyone to use proper decorum and leave my words to the confines of the soccer board, and not bring them to tSECR. Tia

Yeah, looking at the 16 teams left, I'd have to think we're the favorites right now... A lot of good teams out there, but this team has been on some ridiculous level for a while now as far as finding ways to just win games.

The wildest thing is just think what the lineup was 8-10 years ago.

Just a monumental change and done the right way.

Truly feels like fate. Remember watching the 13 or 14 UCL final with Dortmund and wanting Klopp so badly. Can’t believe it happened and has worked out beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.

yeah, this truly is a once in a lifetime season potentially. this group of players could be considered the greatest team to ever play football in any league. you never want to think about that in the middle of it, cause you don't wanna jinx the boys, but we all should take a moment to appreciate what this group has done. they do it for themselves, yes, but it's for us fans as well. A sentiment that doesn't feel the same with american professional sport, and it's sadly becoming that way in the college game. I have never enjoyed watching sports as much as i have this liverpool team this year and sharing banter with you guys on the board.

YNWA y'all

We're gonna win the league! and possibly the treble...

The bus is already parked at the Wanda Metrpolitano

quote:

And according to Atleti midfielder Saúl Ñíguez, part of the difficulty of facing the Reds comes from what he sees as unique approach to the press, an approach whose movements can even seem entirely disordered at times but that always has a purpose.

“They have those attack dogs in the middle who run and press,” he said of the challenge Atlei will face tonight. “But it’s not just running for the sake of running. They can do things that aren’t normal and it looks disordered but it’s ordered, mechanised.

“It’s very hard to escape when they come at you like that. One comes out here and you think, ‘That’s mad, why’s he there?’ It’s incredible, they press like animals. They know that even if they get turned there will be seven running like mad to get back.”

As for how to stop them, or at least to have the best chance at it, Ñíguez says the answer is fairly clear, and it’s one that will hardly come as a surprise to Liverpool fans and to manager Jürgen Klopp: sitting deep and setting up a low block to try to frustrate them.

“Liverpool are very complete, a great team,” he added “But they find it hardest when you’re deep because they’re very, very, very good in transition. I watched them against Norwich and there if it wasn’t for Mané’s extraordinary control they don’t win.

“But they’ve won lots of games they could have drawn or lost, which tells you something about what they have inside. It’s not luck. It’s work, sacrifice, not giving up a single ball for lost.”

If they sit deep at home, we're going through cause even if they hold us to no goals in this one, they ain't gonna do it at Anfield

they have discipline, so we're not going to beat them by more than 2 goals in either match unless they need to make up more than 1 goal. but they also don't have an outlet or a finisher. i predict 1-0, possibly 2. if we are up 2 goals going to anfield and they have to open up they're gonna get demolished.
