I think that call is bullshite but Liverpool have lost AT LEAST two “armpit” offside goals this year, so Wolves get no tears from me.

And, in fact, this one was probably the offensive players foot so its even more blatant than an “armpit”.

Again, millimeter decisions like this are bullshite IMO, but if you’re gonna apply them, they have to be equally applied.

Too bad, so sad, Wolves.

Especially since VAR can be off by up to 14 inches..

ETA: 14 inches not 18 inches. My conversion from cm to inches was off

If you can use a program that can tell you the distance between lines, then they need to introduce a margin of error. If it's within X inches/cms/mms, then it's not offside.

You’re damn fricking right... can’t wait to hear Nuno after this

The Liverpool goal was fine, no big deal there

But the wolves guy wasn’t offside. That was bullshite

if you're offsides by even a millimeter it's called, that needs to change but on the letter of the law it was right
I'm ok with that, but where it falls apart is when do you freeze the frame? The cameras only shoot at so many frames per second. How exact are the lines that you are drawing? These guys are just eyeballing it. There's room for error and it can be several inches. You need to introduce a margin of error.

Except by the letter of the law he was, sooo yeah... the rule needs to change, but that's what we're dealing with this season

No I agree, how much error? I don't know, but something has to change

Kind of agree with what was said at halftime. Change the rule to measure offsides position at the foot and maybe develop tech to nearly instantly determine offsides/not offsides...similar to Hawkeye.

Yeah, I don't really know, but it shouldn't be too hard to do a quick study. Look at how many frames/sec the camera shoots at. Determine the amount of time between frames. See how far a player can move during that span. Look at the variance of how differently the VAR officials mark a random player. Create some formula using these numbers and you get a margin of error.

You can do all of this in the first weekend of the offseason.

yeah... I hate it, but we've had it go against us a couple of times... they need to figure it out in the offseason...

IMO, VAR is perfect for the blown call on Sadio's goal.. but some of these offside decisions are too close to call with the factors mentioned above..

I’d go with the foot AND the head but, yeah, any other body part is too nebulous (amorphous?).
