Watched last night. I get the ire with the MF we started, but they played well. Mane should've put the game out of reach multiple times, and that isn't their fault. I think it's becoming clear that Klopp views that group as one unit and Fab-Keita-Shaqiri as another, with Milner likely the constant (allowing Shaq to rotate into our front 3). Hopefully we see Fab and Keita against United, I'd like to see Gini with them, but it'll probably be Milner, with Shaq coming off the bench in the second half.

If I understand the round of 16 draw, the group winners are all seeded and runners up are not. We cannot draw PSG (in our group) or City (no same country ties in round of 16), which means we'll draw one of the following:

Dortmund
Barcelona
Porto
Bayern Munich
Real Madrid
Juventus

As much as I'd like to draw the weakest team, I'm not excited at the prospect of facing Porto again. I think Juventus would be the worst draw for us, and I would love to match up with Dortmund, Munich and Barca. Like others have said, wouldn't be at all surprised with a Madrid, and I think our players would love the chance to face them again.

Welp, Matip is having shoulder surgery and is out six weeks or so.

Also, just wanted to make mention of how awesome Robertson played and has been playing. Quickly becoming one of my favorite players. He was all over the place yesterday making plays.

Same... Honestly I could make a case for him being MotM.

I will say, when I decide to buy another kit, it'll likely be with his name on it

fricking hell, Matip must be made of crystal.

So after VVD and Dejan I guess Fabinho?

And, oddly enough, Klopp played Gini at CB once in a pinch.

Phillips is the next guy up I guess.

ETA: it would be nice to have Ragnar.

Philips, Gini and Fab at CB? Fab, Milner and Camacho at RB? Hope we buy some cover in Jan...

Henderson at rb.

Bonus it keeps him out of midfield.

For real. Matip played a hell of a game yesterday. I didn’t even notice the injury occur, I know it happened at the final whistle.

We need another senior CB... even if it’s just a loan until summer..

Fair point from Reddit today... We're obviously all looking at the group winners and talking about who we don't want, but every single team on that side of it is looking at us and saying "frick that"

I agree TF, remember City’s response last year when they drew us?

Not to mention, it’s the Champion’s League. This is what it’s about and this is what the ultimate goal is. To measure up against the best teams in Europe. Just enjoy the ride because I’d much rather us play in Barcelona or Munich or Turin than Sheffield or Bratislava

I think we lucked out in the draw last year and I like our chances better than anyone in a 2 leg with Anfield.

Gotta beat the best to be the best end of the day and we still haven't really fired on all cylinders so bring it on.

Haven’t seen it posted yet but looks like Trent will be out this weekend. Again, bad timing

I read that he could be out for up to 3 matches.

Yea. Really the United match would likely be the biggest one he would match. Clyne is back in training, but I doubt he’s ready to go this weekend. I’ll assume it will be Milner at RB, but I guess Fabinho could get a run out there if absolutely necessary too
