At this point, I'd say yes... having missed the first 2 months of the season... That said, I dont think there's much difference between him and Matip and, Matip is likely to get hurt soon anyway...
I actually had a slight sense of doom thinking VVD may be out for a prolonged period and saw our season come crashing down on the back of #6... not to mention setting Joe's development back a few years having to play alongside Mr. Panic...

Nah, once he's healthy and up to speed I'd pick him over matip still
There's a massive gap between Gomez and him though

Okay because I watched a really disturbing movie last night called "Would you rather" I have one for you guys...
Would you rather
A. Lose to Chelsea in the midweek and be eliminated from the league cup early (again), but beat them on the weekend
Or
B. Beat Chelsea in the midweek, but lose in the league match next weekend knowing that one loss probably isn't going to make a massive difference by season's end

Yeah, I'm the same way... Just thought it was an interesting decision

Winning an interesting piece of silverware would be nice, but the only two races that are TRULY important this season are for the EPL and CL.
So I'd choose option A in a pinch, but would prefer option C (winning both).

Don't have that match on at present... did he miss a sitter or something?
Posted on 9/23/18 at 9:15 am to beatbammer
basically, an open header.. needed to bury it

Yep, but hey we're alone atop the league with the only perfect record

Even with Chelsea dropping points today.. I actually think it's a harder decision than you guys, apparently...
I can go either way... The league may come down to 3pts or less... but lose midweek and you're def out of the running for at least one piece of silverware...

I hear ya (and I knew that
)
If we're gonna be in it, I'd like us to win it...
So, I will swallow hard and say option b.. knowing I could regret that decision...
Though I am thinking there is no reason we cant pull off option c, with a heavily rotated team...
edit: I wouldn't risk our first choice 11 to win the cup match...

Rudiger may be out for our 2 matches... went off injured..

I agree we can definitely win both, just left it out for argument's sake

Matip vs Lovren - I think we’re splitting hairs with these two. Matip is better than he thinks he is, appears to lack confidence at times. Lovren is not as good as he thinks he is, always seems to be over confident in his abilities.

Carabao (EFL) Lineup Predictions:
Migs
Clyne-Matip-Nat Phillips-Moreno
Keita-Fabinho-Henderson-Curtis Jones
Sturridge-Solanke
This'll never happen, but I really want to rest our starters.
