The seem alright on TV, I guess, but I’m not a huge fan. Was it hard reading numbers in person or is it a bad color scheme all around?

I'd still probably rather Origi on the bench than Solanke (right now), but neither one of them inspires much confidence..
Pretty much my thoughts. People shite on Origi but he was hanging on the shoulder of the CB’s to make runs behind. Is he gonna be Firmino with trying to close down CB’s and the keeper? No but who is?

Perfect world I’d keep Ings but doesn’t seem like he wants that so we’re in a pickle....

Either way, it’s preseason so I’m not all that worried about it

Thoughts on starting line up though first week I’d guess Keita (he’s been a beast)-Fabinho-Milner(just because Henderson won’t have much time back with the squad and he’s quietly been very solid this offseason plus last year) and then now that Matip picked up a slight knock I’d guess Robertson-VVD-Lovren-Clyne(cause TAA’s been gone)

I was thinking Lallana over Milner, but could go either way...

I though Matip was a shoe in until this injury... Now maybe Gomez, but mainly due to Lovren coming back so late...

Ideally sill need a

CAM
RCB
Striker (this is the least likely, but Id get rid of most of ours and bring someone in)

Yea but I’d say all those positions are somewhat expendable considering we addressed are main needs this summer. I’m sure that will be the main positions addressed next summer

Unless somehow Sturridge sticks around and can stay healthy all season :foolishlycrossesfingers:

And BB I was at the dawg pound most of the morning. Just drove in from Charleston but had to pregame somewhere....

Meh, if it was just the CL Final I'd agree, but we've seen mistakes in preseason along the same lines... I'd rather not see him take the pitch for us again honestly

I was talking specific to this match and everything they guy does now days... I was looking at a replay that shows the ball deflected off of Klavan... and I'm guessing more GKs than not, dont catch that... where it goes then, who knows??

I get the wanting to move on from him part.. from what he's shown in the couple of years he's been here, no doubt... but that guy cant do anything without... "Jesus Christ, his heads gone... nerves are shattered.. he's the worst keeper ever, etc..."

We have Alisson now... So, I dont think its a big concern... I hope he goes somewhere where he can get back to playing again and enjoying it...

I think RCB was up there as one of our biggest needs...

I agree that you cant get them all though... I still think we may get one, maybe two in before the window closes... just a gut feel..

I have no problems letting Studge stay if he wants... though anything you get from him is gravy... He's playing well, but thats not his problem... you know everyone was like... frick, there it is.. when he went down for those couple of minutes

I know your feelings on Lovren

I’ll give him respect for stepping up most of last season (outside the Tottenham game). I know he’s not elite, but I’m fine with him next season especially now that we got Fabinho

And the bad part about Sturridge is literally 2 people around me were like “heeeeeere we go” when Sturridge went down and I’d be lying if I didn’t think it

And I think he was awful most of last season... he looked okay in games where we had most of the possession... and he had his moments here and there...

but full of mistakes, though they didn't always end up costing us... full of mistakes at the WC too..

And yes, I'm super aware that I do to him, what I blame other of doing to Karius

I do give him credit for coming back for more though and fighting through it, even though he sucks... also, the other players seem to like him and he seems like a nice guy..

My biggest beef are with the people on social media who constantly abuse LK.. its just disgusting..

I get what you’re saying towards Lovren but I think with the style of play we have, he’s the best we have (better than Matip) and honestly he’s better than a lot of people give credit for considering we play a high line

Is he world class like he said. No. And why the frick did he say that? That just sounded bad. But basically unless we bought Alderweireld, Koulibaly, or Pavard (just considering reachable targets) I think it would’ve been tough to upgrade on him this window

I know we have differing opinions but I’m just thinking of “relatively” young, available options. I just don’t think it’s that open

That and I think a DM and a keeper were the bigger needs to answer at this point. Matip would have been the perfect answer as a RCB but he just hasn't been reliable (outside of his first season) so I definitely agree we need to upgrade, but from the yearly financial perspective, it was clearly down the list and not a must until next year ( I assume)

And I think Keita has been a beast this preseason. Fabinho's been good too, but my god Keita has looked every bit of his price tag. I can't wait to see the full first team in action

Origi is to BB as Lovren is to TFTC

And I agree that any abuse of Karius is utter shite. At this point I’m of the opinion, however, that he is a GK that can make most but not all of “normal” saves and zero percent of spectacular “pull it out of your arse to save a game” saves, and thats not good enough.

Hell, even Migs could pull one out of his arse on occasion. World-class gives you the spectacular even more often. Karius is neither at this point. He needs a nice calm no-pressure Bundislega squad for which to play.

Karius is a lot better of a sweeper keeper and with his distribution than Migs... I think that's why Klopp liked him.. That's what always gives you a little bit of anxiety.. See Neuer/MATS, etc..

Hell, Alisson has some nervy moments when he's sweeping up and tends to parry shots back into the 6 yard box...

I hope the supporters don't turn on him after his first mistake, because it is inevitable..

But I def agree that he needs somewhere far away from England to rebuild his confidence and career..

yeah, but I think the big difference is I wouldn't count on Origi for much more than a bit part in cup matches or to try and nick a late goal... Lovren is counted on by many to be the main man at RCB.. I'm not saying you, specifically..

I also have a deep down disdain for Migs' GK abilities.. much more than Karius..

Glad you had a good time yesterday..
