What other world class keepers are out there that we could afford and are interested in leaving their current club? (Not trolling, serious question)

Like I'd fricking love to get Terrible Stegen, but he's not moving to Liverpool

My response was in assumption that he was referring to the effort to buy Oblak or Allison as a "panic buy".

If we can get neither Oblak nor Allison, buying another GK in the 20-30M range won't be a "panic buy" either assuming Migs is gone (and I think he is).

See I read that as buying someone OTHER than those two as a panic buy... Which I'd agree with

I'm not entirely sure Oblak would be a good fit for our system. And at the price tag....

Not saying I wouldn't take him, but....

I have a feeling we're looking at it like this -

Fekir - priority no matter what.

And then its a numbers game - we only have so much to spend.

If we got in deep on a GK, our other back-up attacker would be a Shaqiri for 12m. If we don't get a GK, our back-up attacker could be a Malcomn for likely 3 times as much as Shaqiri.

Personal opinion - this has shifted back and forth a few times but I think I'm settled on it - if we don't get Allison (or Oblak), we get as good of a GK as we can that's at the best level we can without over paying, THAT FITS OUR SYSTEM. The last part is the most important.

Personally, IF (big if) Klopp thinks Karius can mentally overcome the final (and the future abuse/heckling he'll receive), I'm ok with him being number 1 next season provided we can't get one of the top two targets and provided we bring in someone that's a better fit than Danny Ward to push him and potentially be number 1.

Karius' distribution was fantastic last year and really added to our game. He (and VVD) also allowed our line to play further up, condensing our defense and pressing game at times really had big benefits.

Plus, he made several really nice stops in the final, which gets overlooked due to the two huge gaffes.

He makes mistakes - sweeper keepers always will and when they miss it will pretty much always be a goal or a PK. Hell Neuer has made some big ones over the years.

Oh no those are clear upgrades and I have no problem with that.

I was talking about going for a Leno or a Butland as panic buys

Plus Fabinho, Henderson, Gini and Milner. There's alot of versatility there. Hope Wilson, Grujic, and Solanke go out on good loans, and I think we sell Clyne, Lallana, Ings, Sturridge and Mignolet.

Bring in a keeper, a CB and a winger and call it a day.

Seems like a good price from what was being talked about

Think Shaqiri will be next and then the Alisson saga will last all summer

Where you seeing that? I haven't seen anything substantial other than people hoping we'd go for him or Tarkowski

Just on twitter from people that seem to have a good pulse on things... may not amount to anything, but we'll see... I'd be very pleased...

Ahhhh, my bad then.

I mean, we need another goal keeper and Butland wouldn't hurt my feelings, but he's nowhere near worth the number that is thrown around about him. And I don't think Klopp or Edwards would pay that for Butland either (fingers crossed).

Let's offer Southampton 15-20M for McCarthy and see if they'll bite.

He's so overrated. I believe he led the league in mistakes leading to goals last year. No thank you. Not even as a backup
