By the way, Gini did a great job today subbing in after Ox's injury and he doesn't get near the respect he deserves from Liverpool interweb sites.

According to some research all told we'd net 110M Euros if we win it all, that's a lot of cheddar

Can't believe we let them score 2 at the end, but holy shite, what a performance. If anyone had given us a 5-2 scoreline prematch we'd have been all over it. We've got the best front 3 in the world.

Can't mail in the second leg now, which I guess is a good thing. Go out and get the road goal and put it away.

Gutted for Ox though. He was in such good form, and is a huge loss for the side. Razor thin in the MF now, and I bet we rotate BIG TIME this weekend.

Clyne-Gomez-Klavan-Robertson
Gini-Henderson-Moreno
Woodburn-Solanke-Ings

frick we're thin!

I don't even know what you do other than play those guys.

Our lack of depth is GNARLY right now.

Any word on Ox? It had to have been bad but given it looks possibly like a hyperextension. Hoping thats the case.

But he will surely need surgery given our luck.

No scan yet, but it's bad... Doubt he plays again this season and the world cup might be in doubt too

Actually I'm crossing my fingers that this is what it is.

Because I don't want to ponder the alternative.

All I can say is wow. Just getting back to my hotel. Going to bed because I have to get up early, but I’ll compile my photos and videos and upload tomorrow.

Probably the greatest and most intense sporting event I’ve ever seen live. And I’ve been to a lot.

Mo Salah!!! The Egyptian King!

Oblak, Koulibaly, Jorghino or Neves as starters. Back ups at LB, winger, one for Bobby and maybe another mid. The back ups don't necessarily have to be brought in if it look like some of our youngdters are ready. And I wasn't really asking what Lovren was doing on that first goal like I hadn't seen it a 100 times I was just surprised because he has been playing really well lately. This squad is way ahead of schedule gents and if we can go get those starters I mentioned this group is going to be scary. You guys know how much I love Ox and this thing just gutted me. I hope it isn't something that will affect next year.

Hypothetical mid-field strengthening for the duration of the season and CL:

Have TAA train and move to MF and plug Clyno back in at RB?

On a positive note. Gained supporter/scouser straight from Liverpool here at our OLSC in Cbis OH. He grew up 7 miles from Anfield. Looks
like a 70's Lennon though

I would be good with De Vrij as well but I have a Kou-VVD thing in my head, that combo would scare the shite out of people. That being said, De Vrij on a free would be not just a phenomenal signing but great business and we all know that we seem to be doing really smart things lately when it comes to the transfer window and our business dealings.

This is a fantastic piece of writing.

https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/liverpool-hurricaning-through-the-champions-league-is-no-accident-just-ask-jurgen-klopp-or-philippe-coutinho-174897

quote:

Liverpool, a hurricane of movement and attacking mastery, are 90-odd minutes away from flying to Kyiv for the chance at a sixth European Cup.

Roma had no obstructions, no clue and no say in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final that they were losing 5-0 on Merseyside, before they stopped playing dead to score twice late on.

In the striking, beach-lined Bellamar district of Castelldefels, which lies southwest of Barcelona, Philippe Coutinho will revisit Jurgen Klopp’s words from December 2016.

In the manager’s office on Melwood’s top tier, with the training pitches behind them and the topic of the Brazilian’s future being faced, the Reds boss detailed the shifting climate in European football.

The dominant forces on the continent - Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona - he argued, had ceded some of their powers with the cloak of invincibility slipping. They were all, of course, still formidable teams but were no longer looking down from a tower that seemed unreachable and Liverpool had designs on rapidly ascending.

They would be back among Europe’s elite, and when they were, it would not be to make up the numbers but to shatter them - to overwhelm opponents and leave them feeling as they were a man short all over the pitch.

Klopp had shared this vision with the No.10, in talks before and after Christmas that year, telling Coutinho he had the opportunity to be front and centre in the poster of their revival - to be immortalised in the club’s history if he stayed and helped propel them to greatness.

Fast forward and having - on the back of those dialogues with the German - agreed a new long-term deal sans a release clause in January 2017, he departed for Camp Nou 12 months later despite Liverpool progressing to the Champions League Last 16.

Since then, it has not been about a player who left after five years of service with no silverware, but about those who have remained to push the Reds closer to the trophy threaded into the fibre of the club in what seems to be a never-ending reverie.
