He would be our Pogba-lite

We sold him to Milan for about 1mm a few years back..

He's interesting... He was up there with Raheem, in regards to highly regarded talent, that was in the academy... I had extremely high hopes for him..

In this day and age, that's about the price for a squad player, so maybe he's worth that... He plays as a right winger for Milan, but he's slooowww...

I think he'd be more suited to a Lallana type role for us.. He definitely has talent, but would not be a def starter IMO... He could possibly grow into it though..

Selected Liverpool player nicknames from Liverpool Reddit:

Sadio Mane - The Beat (this stems from the fact that someone during the 2016-17 season posted that Mane was "the best" but misspelled it, ergo "the beat")

Believe this was an autocorrect issue as well.

My current fav (and the newest one)though is the autocorrect of Rambo for Robbo. Couple of good pieces of Meme coming out of it.

Suso

Don't quite see it. Has talent, but I think its already been figured out he's just not a good fit for the PL. Sort of like Lucas.

Roma

I am torn about whether this is really our best draw or not. I guess over two legs, they are. Because I would rather only have to beat RM or Bayern once. But Roma, imo, are the least susceptible to our attack.

More Italy news... Italian site calciomercato.com ("Italy's first football news site!") is reporting that Klopp wants to pay Suso's €40M buyout and bring him back to Anfield.

Suso has been very good for Milan the past two seasons.

calciomercato.com though is just one of those sites that collects every single rumor or conjecture from any source so depends on the origin of the rumor.

I liked Suso when he was here, and I'm happy he's developed so well at Milan. That said, after all the schtick I've given my United friends for selling and then re-buying Pogba at such a crazy premium, I can't allow Liverpool to do that.

Speaking of players that didn't pan out here but have done well since leaving, what the hell happened with Aspas? Does nothing here, becomes an all-star in La Liga.

I mean, he was doing well there before he came (obviously not at the level he’s playing at now)

To be fair he never played all that often so he never really got much of a chance to settle in to the team and adjust to the league. Plus he got here when our attack was firing on all cylinders so he wasn’t going to replace Suárez, Sturridge, or Sterling.

The intensity and physicality of the EPL isn’t for everyone. Especially a striker that weighs <150 lbs

In general, people go way overboard in judging younger players or even ones in their mid-20s as "failures" or saying they can't do it at a bigger club etc etc. . .

Young players improve and even players through their mid-twenties often have trouble adjusting to not only different leagues like you mention but really just different team mates / dynamics of their own team.

You often just have to move young talented players who are probably going to end up being great players.

As a Roma fan, I would not be surprised if players like Paredes, Sanabria, Romagnoli, Emerson, Gerson, Ponce are all stars in the near future but keeping/ playing all those guys through their growing pains would have meant finishing out of CL spots for 2-3 seasons.

Financially, it would make more sense to use that CL money to buy back the ones that are breaking out in a couple of seasons.

With the way our attack plays I like having the first leg at home... Get some goals and then we can play on the counter in the road leg
