Aub is the only one that I knew of who was available and a decently big name. I'd be ok with gunning for him, but it couldn't be for any astronomical fee.

Honestly, I think we need an out & out striker so that Bobby can either fall back to be part of an attacking mid of 3 or play behind/off of (but not far back from whoever the striker may be).

It is ridiculous that every time we fill a void, we acquire another.

I'm torn... I'd obviously take Auba if Klopp wanted him, but I like Bobby as our first choice #9...

If we could get someone like Icardi, then Bobby dropping back to a #10 would be

We could trigger Icardi's clause now with the Coutinho money, but I think he is destined for Madrid...

I kinda wish we'd throw the big money at Lazio for the big Serb... SMS..

Not much to discuss today... looked like crap across the board and just off the pace... we'll bounce back, not too worried..

edit: just pissed I left work for this

I'm not too worried man, but just frustrated, had a chance to make a statement about our intent the rest of this season and laid an egg

Feeling the Coutinho void here.

I've seen squads with Coutinho in them lay eggs against parked buses plenty over the last 2 years.

If Coutinho had been so consistently magical against parked buses, Liverpool wouldn't have their current reputation under Klopp of being unable to unlock parked buses.

If I was DOF of LFC... I'd get Timo Werner... But I doubt RBL would sell this window...

He can play as the #9 and on both wings... He'd get plenty of matches and isn't a one trick pony... young, pace to burn and would fit in great with our squad IMO...

I expect Porto to play the same way next month, which is unnerving because they’re pretty good at it.

Either way this exposed some of our needs for another explosive, creative attacker that can flow within our system. With that said, it has now been around 5 years or so, under 2 managers with entirely different players and I’ve seen that match 100 times.

well, I know what you're saying, but bottom line... if we finish our chances we leave with 3 pts...

when you play a team that is content defending, you're only going to get a couple of those... we got them, just didnt finish them..

Seems like we stayed on the left side the entire game. Realize we went to a back 3 with no real right wb but still.

Also, our crosses and set pieces seemed to never beat the first guy again.

Tough lost but ready to move on

saw this stat on the twitter...

quote:

Liverpool faced 51 corners between conceding an injury time equalizer at Sevilla and Swansea's winner today without letting one in. two months ago. 13 and almost-a-half matches ago.

Sure seems like more, but I'm probably counting all the times Ive had my arse clenched at the end of matches..

When we win I feel we are invincible when we lose like that I wonder if we will win another match. This match is Liverpool its what we do.

I'm disappointed, but not horribly upset about yesterday.

They had one chance and scored it. It happens. Its proof, in PL game 1 of the VVD era, that one player doesn't fix the way our defense lets in the only chance the other team has. You can change the GK, buy a top CB, and still the other team converts their only chance.

I would back Bobby to score that header 75% of the time. I would back Mane and Salah to put away the chances they had 40-50% of the time - neither was easy, but both were makeable.

Despite everything, we had plenty of chances to get on the scoreboard but none of the players made the play they needed to.

I'm more concerned with how they seemed more aggressive to the ball than we did, especially in the second half. We seemed off the pace.

We had better get used to this though - about half the games left this season will be played like this.

Yeah - In my view, we are still a work in progress and not a team that is ready to dominate week in and out.. We're getting there.. slowly..

I just hope we get the missing pieces in place, before we start losing the ones we have.. It happened with Phil already..

We need to get to a place when players want to stay, but if we lose one to Barca or RM, we have 2-3 lining up to take their place..

There's been no rumor of connection, but Emery has told Lucas at PSG that he has no place in the squad any longer and should find a new club.

Rumored interest by Arsenal and Tottenham.

Winger depth for Klopp?
