You don't have to be a insider to know that Spain was playing Italy like a friendly in the earlier game.

What an insult to Spanish players. I'd like to think they care enough about their national side to take playing Italy in the opening match of the Euros a bit seriously.

Maybe you're right though and they just don't care since they seemed to play France and Portugal about the same way they played Italy.

God knows Italy playing pretty well against them could have had nothing to do with it.

Sucks for Italy. They didn't deserve this. But Spain dominated from start to finish. Underwhelming tournament from them with a championship finish.
