By not getting pounded by Germany.

Portugal needs to win big and they need the US to lose big. Remember, they are looking at -4 GD because of their loss to Germany.

No, not necessarily. Depends on how much they win by and how we do (goal/win/draw-wise)

So suddenly we're all Portugal fans. They win or draw and we're through.
Incredible that head to head doesnt figure in. We could tie with Ghana in points and have them advance on goal differential.

Yes. It's called match-fixing, and would be very bad if proved.

Yeah if Zusi does run hard the whole game they keep adding minutes until Germany scores.

Why can't the US and Germany intentionally draw and both advance with 5 points each?

regardless of whether we end up 1st or 2nd, we can beat Belgium or Algeria, hands down. Those teams have looked like shite.

It's not as simple as head to head. Goal differential would come in to play first.

Like I said. At least you edited your post to make it clearer for the slow ones here.

Klinsmann said US would not agree to tie Germany even if it was offered, would go against teams personality/legacy.
