This is one of my favorite boards on TD, but it's been pathetic lately. I know we had the international break, but things need to pick up.

Arsenal being bad really makes me lose interest in commenting.

Combine that with Liverpool not doing well and the answer is clear as to why.

The thing is that everyone pretty much blows except for Chelsea and City. Might as well enjoy the wild weekends.

Yeah, there's only so many ways that you can say how terrible we look... Though we may hit some new lows against Real Madrid.. I am scared

I'm glad we are playing Anderlecht and not Real. expecting a draw with 70% possession, 12-0 corners and 17 shots to 3. SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

The three biggest fanbases on here are Arsenal, Pool, and Spurs. All three aren't great this year, so the "casuals" stay away from the board and the regulars keep most of their posts to the season long threads.

The World Cup was also a major failure with regard to this board, but it wasn't our fault. Posters bending over backwards to be welcoming to people who didn't give a frick about the sport made the majority of posters on this board seem (for lack of a better word) "amateurish," and the blowback from other posters to this attitude (including myself in this) pushed anyone away who wasn't pushed away by how the majority was acting.

ETA: I also just noticed that there are threads on the SEC Rant and it seems that none of our regulars posting in those threads are trying to get those posters to post over here.

With Anderlecht going ahead early on their first shot on target or within 5 minutes of an Alexis Sanchez goal.

The script has gotten way too familiar

Is there a linguist in the house who might be able to diagram or otherwise make sense of this run-on sentence?

Congrats on being illiterate.

To help:

Posters like you: drove most people away during WC

Posters like me reacting to posters like you: drove away everyone else

Yeah I was bit afraid of this place during the world cup tbh. We had a more casual World Cup thread on SEC OT board. I didn't really post in the Arsenal thread for a while until felt like I had a really good grasp of things. All of my previous soccer knowledge was from Fifa. I listened to a ton of podcasts, watched a bunch of youtube videos, and stop by the Arsenal subreddit a few times a day.

I still occasionally say something very wrong, but thankfully y'all aren't too hard on me when I do.
