We pretty much invented basketball, football, and baseball so we were able to do things like we wanted. We didn't invent hockey or soccer because we took them from places where they were already wildly popular. We use the same terminology that Canada uses for hockey and the same for soccer. What's wrong with that?
That is what they do in their countries regardless of the sport.

Good lord, what do you expect our fans to do during the match? They at least tailgate, which they don't do in Europe.

Completely agree. Having said that, Seattle's crowd is fvcking awesome and feels alot more like a football crowd.

Yep, and the structure of the game is totally different from the structures of most the games here. Thus, fan support is different. You don't chant in baseball or football or basketball games. There are too many stoppages in play for that.

Yelling the national anthem, everybody has towels and flags and big banners, goofy hats, they seem overly excited to the point of it being fake.
I don't know specifically what it is... it just doesn't seem genuine to me.

They see it on TV, and they attempt to recreate it because it looks like fun. I don't have a problem with that. I saw a character on television that I enjoyed how he dressed, so I dressed like him. You see ideas that make you happy, so you chose to act a little more like it.

Yeah, there should totally be piped-in shitty rap music, commercial breaks every 10 minutes, and furry mascots shooting XXL t-shirts in the crowd during this US-Mexico game. Nothing screams 'Murican sports like that.
