I'm not 100% sold on Nunez in our current system - but he's a different type of player which may be good in some of these games against the lower half of the table we get locked into. Klopp may be looking at changing our shape or tactics for some matches or maybe overall.

If we get the price down to 60 I'd be good with it (even if add ons make it up to 65 etc.) - he's 22 and we could have him for a decade.

Official proposal from Liverpool for Darwin Núñez will be €80m plus add ons for €100m package. Benfica will make a decision soon, while Man United are also in contact with his agent. ?? #LFC

I suppose paying that much for Nunez would be softened by selling Mane and maybe one other. I hope we land him, just seems pretty spendy for our normally budget conscious club. Must mean he’s the real deal.

We’ll sell Minamino from 15-20m as well. Wouldn’t be shocked to sell one of the young cb like Phillips either

The Nunez fee is high, but he may the hottest striker on the market right now (and I trust our recruitment)... We have barely spent any money over the last few years... plus Nunez is on €37mm/wk at Benfica, so I doubt he will be on astronomical wages.. There will be out goings.. The other players we are signing this window so far are young and bargains (£7 - Carvalho and a reported £4mm for Ramsay)... I imagine even after the Nunez signing, we'll have a nice budget to bring in a midfielder too

Klopp just signed on for the rebuild... thats gonna cost money...

Where things may get interesting is Salah... I just cant see us letting him walk for free next year... May be a long summer with him! Personally, I hope he signs a new deal... but if not, sell him and get someone else in (who???)

Portuguese media all reporting there is total agreement and Nunez to LFC is imminent. €80 + €20 in incentives, 5 year deal.

How can we let Salah walk for free next year??
We have to get big $$$ then invest it.
We have the next generation on the way we need to embrace it.

Only feels appropriate to use a liverpudlian meme for our new Uruguayan 9

Pearce is saying its official (pending medical tomorrow)

£64.1 million, with a further £21.4 million in add-ons

6 yr deal - Ive seen the €6,000,000mm/£5,200,000mm a year reported, which is obviously £100k/wk.. Thats what Sadio is currently paid.. no wonder he's looking to triple that with his new deal (Bayern)

edit: Joyce further clarified that the add-ons are £12.8m on appearances and £8.5m on team success

Gonna be interesting to watch Liverpool with a true #9. Hopefully he can help us punish teams sitting with a low block. These signings make the pre-season build up exciting.

I think we play Man U in exactly 1 month... Season starts a little earlier this year... Gonna be a weird one with a month break for the World Cup!

In the early hours of Monday (0:44 a.m.), Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Futebol, SAD informed the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) that it reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the sale of all the rights of player Darwin Nuñez, for the amount of 75 million euros.

To the CMVM, SAD do Benfica also reported that "the agreement provides for the payment of a variable remuneration, so the overall amount of the sale may reach the amount of 100 million euros".

"More information is stated that this agreement is dependent on the conclusion of the player's sports employment contract with Liverpool FC," it is also explained in the official document.

Looks like Aberdeen has seen the open check book and wants a bigger fee for Ramsay...

I'm reading ~£5mm up front and another £5mm in add-ons...

Damn, they are teasing us with the lean... Should be today.. Ive seen leaked pics of him at AXA already...

I'm hoping #10 > Bobby... #9 > Darwin

I've seen Joyce is saying we are targeting a midfielder NEXT summer (Jude?), though also reports we may look to bring in his little brother (Jobe) this summer..

I guess we'll start to see more outgoings in our business coming up...

Think the consensus is that Jude won’t be available this summer since they sold Halaand in this window. I know we want him but we might be in a situation where we’re breaking our transfer record to sign him. He is going to be crazy expensive with the English tax.

I’m not entirely down on Naby lad, but if someone offers us 40+ in this window it might be time to sell and reinvest. We’ve started the remake with our front line and back line, but the aging midfield really needs to be addressed in this window if we can afford it. Honestly think Mckennie would slot into our system. Tireless work rate and goals from midfield. Don’t think he’d play starters minutes off the bat of course, but his best form at Juve version of him has a place in this squad and wouldn’t break the bank. Aouar, Sangare, Gavi some other names to potentially keep an eye on that fit our strategy. Haven’t necessarily seen us linked with all of them, but as we know our transfers can pop out of nowhere sometimes.
