Yup. And as someone else said, maybe saif for Julian, but hed have to actually be healthy first. Lletget or Rowe would be others. That LM spot is tricky.

Bradley...ugh. hes losing it fast. He choked in the ccl final. He turns the ball over in midfield WAY too often and easily. His passes of more than 15 yds rarely connect, and hes lost a few steps. THAT said, i i think he still has a starting role until someone else takes it. I also worry that his "suffering" attitude will rub off on these swaggy youths.

Im kinda tired of his grimdark captaincy, tbh. These kids have a chance to bring us back to all the fun promise of the yung Jozy/Davies era.

He had to play CB in the CCL final because his team didn't have any that were healthy.

He was arguably their best player during their CCL campaign.

And the final wouldn't have gone to penalties if Delgado didn't pull a Wondo in the 89'.

Very arguable. And when the pressure was on, he skied it.

He was very poor in the America tie, and if not for Bono they dont sniff the final.

I mean, surely we can all acknowledge that MB is declining and that MAYBE his starting spot shouldnt be a given.

So... don't ask him to take penalties?

Weah——Jozy——Pulisic
McKennie————Adams
——— Bradley————
Robinson-Brooks-Miazga-Yedlin

4-3-3 with no #10 as we don’t have one so I don’t like to force it. Have adams and McKennie box to box with a high energy press to create chances. Leave Pulisic on the wing where he is most dangerous. I have Weah out there but would also be good with Wood or Saif in that role. Also ok with Nagbe for Adams

I think Amon is better than Weah right now, if we're looking at players to play LW.

He certainly looks the part in the highlights I’ve seen just need to see how he plays a few times for the US before I plug him in there.

Also, I'm hoping Weah is with a new club in September, and I'd prefer that he stays with them at least through the 1st international window.

In the absence of a return to great form for Toronto, the argument for a Bradley type on the other side of his prime come Hex time is veteran leadership or familiarity with the system. We've just witnessed how complacent and lackadaisical the team got under said leadership - not compelling and I'm not sure I want it rubbing off on the pool anymore. New manager under new system, so he'll bring no experience or familiarity to the table there either.

Even his effort in playing for Toronto of late has been shite as he's been passed up in the quality pecking order over there. Oh and he's the captain of a side in freefall.

The new MNT manager should formally strip him of the captaincy and tell him if he wants a spot in qualifying or Qatar he has to earn it from scratch.

Honestly he's getting booed at other MLS venues so consistently now that I don't think he's mentally fit to return to the MNT.

Changing the topic a little bit, but which guys do you think from this past cycle will likely never put on a USMNT kit again, barring a testimonial match?

For me, I've got:

Dempsey
Howard
Cameron
Besler
Zusi
Chandler
Fab Johnson
Wondo
Beasley
Bedoya
McCarty

That due more to injuries than anything.

Bradley has had to play CB in their last 3 losses, Jozy has been out for a while, and Bono was with the USMNT during Toronto's last loss.

Probably by people like yourself who blame him for the coach putting him as the sole defensive midfielder in a “must not lose” game.

Is there a reason nobody has mentioned Dwyer?

I mean, he's there, but is not ahead of Wood and Jozy

I see him about equal to Wood right now. I just keep forgetting about him since he hasn't done much with the USMNT yet.

I mean, if we are playing that high energy press like we did against Ireland, I think his movement would easily be of use. He has plenty of energy and is creative in his play, while also seemingly able to drop back into the midfield at times to relieve pressure and provide an extra outlet option.

I would be shocked if Fab Johnson doesn't play some more.

Cameron likely has enough for half this cycle and can play multiple positions so I'm ok with him back in as well.

The rest of those names need to concentrate on their club careers (if they still have them).

I wouldn't. He was considering retiring internationally after this WC, and already said he only wanted to be called up for important games. He'll be 31 in December and barely played any this season because of a back injury.

Didn't he basically retire from the USMNT or say something about only playing in big games? I think his days in red, white, and blue are over.
