They couldn’t have stayed in Vancouver?

It's being ignored but Canada denied the Iranian delegates entry into Vancouver in April for the FIFA Congress.

The horrors. The Big 10 and ACC sports would like a word about travel.
Granted they did that to themselves.
Not considering all the NFL International games, which are once a week as well.

Exactly.

There's a big difference between the IRGC and Iran's soccer players. They just want to ball out.

But, it does make sense to get their arse away from Americans after the game. It would not surprise if one of their guys was a secret agent and pipe-bombed a San Ysidro Walmart

Doesn’t every team fly back to their base camp? England is stationed in Kansas City, for example. Germany is in North Carolina. It’s common practice for teams to fly back home after a game. So what’s the issue?

Teams will spend the night and conduct their normal, routine recovery in the city of the match, and then fly back to their host city the following day.

For Iran, the players are forced to immediately return to Tijuana. And from Seattle, that’s about a 3-hour flight.

Athletes all have their routines. And it’s the post-game routine the Iran players are unable to conduct.

Their opponents have no restrictions.

they have to stay in Tijuana Mexico for security reasons.

It was pure virtual signaling by the US to not allow them to stay in the US overnight. Anyone who believes the team is a “security threat” is a gullible SOB.

That said, their bitching about having to fly after games is stupid. It’s not like they are flying cross country nor is it some every day thing.
