I noticed that too. It didn't make sense to me either.

Nashville will be a long shot. Atlanta is easily a lock.

Only reason wjy I said toss up is considering proximity to each other that 1 would get it. Pretty much same with Houston and Orlando. I'm really hoping Houston gets games to make it easier for me to attend.

nashville is def out if it's coming against atl. atl was featured prominently in the united bid presentation. i would say other than LA, NYC and DC that ATL is the biggest lock.

Saw around the twitosphere that the rumors are Dallas and ATL as the Semis and New York (well technically NJ) for the Final.

Not sure how true that is.

I'm already getting goosebumps about seeing a stadium full of Canadians singing O Canada.

I got to say, the oddsmakers really know their shite. They had the United bid get 125-130 votes.

And for all the talk about Europe going for Morocco, that didn't happen at all. 41-14 for the United bid.

UEFA: 41-12 United. Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Estonia, Slovakia, and Turkey...very disappointing. Russia and Serbia, well that is to be expected.
CONCACAF: 29-0 United
CONMEBOL: 9-1, wtf Brazil?
ASIA: 33-11. Only headscratchers are China, Macau, and Taiwan. North Korea, too Iran abstained, which was surprising to me.
Oceania: 11-0, United

Africa: 41 to 11. Morocco. All of West and East Africa went to Morocco, as did North Africa (not surprising at all on the last front). I am pleasantly surprised that all of Southern Africa essentially went for the United bid.

I'm almost totally shocked that Chicago is not in consideration. It's top five population-wise in the U.S., Soldier Field isn't "new" but it's still one of the newer venues. It's home to U.S. Soccer, this simply surprises me a great deal.

Orlando has "the Mouse" it will get a bid. It was a 1994 venue, as well.

Houston and Dallas both have fine facilities, no reason they won't both be considered.

I'd be surprised if Orlando was one of the sites that are picked.

I don't think so, and they wouldn't play on turf in Seattle either.

The bid stipulates that every stadium that currently has turf will have grass for the World Cup.

Natural grass has always been a requirement for FIFA tournaments, especially the World Cup. This is nothing new. They're likely not going to change in 8 years, just for Seattle, especially.

Yes, that's in FIFA's requirements as well.
