I don't believe men's has.
in 94 it was in Detroit at the Pontiac Silverdome, for that game they installed grass.

Women's has. When in Canada they played those games on artificial playing surface.

I don't think so, and they wouldn't play on turf in Seattle either.

Gotta give props to Sunil on this one, not only for seeing it through, but having the foresight to include Canada and Mexico in the bid. We all hated it when it was announced but it definitely pushed the bid over the finish line.

Atlanta's is artificial too, btw. But its quality stuff and its a nice clean, fast pitch.

I've already been thinking in my head if I'm gonna have to buy a ticket for some kid.

MBS will most likely have grass trucked in.

I may have been in he minority, but I thought it was smart. The US is still getting 60 games.

Will have plenty of money, leave time, and hopefully no kids.

Women's has. When in Canada they played those games on artificial playing surface.

some players heading into that Women's World Cup in Canada actually filed suit to get rid of the artificial turf and make them put in grass fields

part of the contention was that men would never play on artificial turf and that some players won't even travel to a location where artificial turf is being used

so to answer the question at hand... I don't think there will be artificial turf used in 2026 unless something major changes

No chance for Chicago. Here is all the cities as of right now before beimg trimmed down to 16

For US (my predictions):
LA, San Fran, Seattle, Dallas, Kansas City, Miami, Atlanta, DC, New York, Philly.

I think only 1 location in Texas and Florida. Atlanta and Nashville are a toss up, but 1 of those will get games. Up NE the only definite will be New York.

Atlanta is pretty much guaranteed to be one of the locations.

The bid committee, however, submitted 17 possible U.S. host cities to FIFA – seven more than necessary. So no American city is assured of games. But some are all but assured. The 17 cities and stadiums in contention, roughly in order of likelihood they make the final list, are: New York (MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J.), Los Angeles (Rose Bowl, Pasadena), Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium), Dallas (AT&T Stadium, Arlington), Washington D.C. (FedEx Field), San Francisco Bay Area (Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara), Boston (Gillette Stadium, Foxborough), Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field), Miami (Hard Rock Stadium), Houston (NRG Stadium), Seattle (CenturyLink Field), Denver (Mile High Stadium), Nashville (Nissan Stadium), Orlando (Camping World Stadium), Kansas City (Arrowhead Stadium), Baltimore (M&T Bank Stadium) and Cincinnati (Paul Brown Stadium)

Nope.

Nashville will be a long shot. Atlanta is easily a lock.

I would be surprised to see the following in the final list of sites:

Nashville
Cincinatti
Baltimore
Orlando
Kansas City

I think there will be a few that drop off just because of proximity to other sites, like San Francisco, Houston, D.C., Phili.

I just noticed Brazil voted for Morocco. Did we piss them off or something? They were the only SA country not to.
