Thanks for sharing, Broski. I love me some Stu updates. I guess his best bet is to try to play a few good years in MLS. Oh what could have been

My cool story to offer:

I actually met Stu at the bar of a Mexican restaurant in an airport a couple years ago. There were just a few people at the bar and they were watching a match (I can't remember who was playing). I sat to his right; he was watching and talking casually with the guy to his left (they did not know each other). I was greatly surprised but clearly recognized him as Stu. As my way of introducing myself, I extended my hand and wryly asked "How many times have people told you that you look like Stuart Holden?"

He smiled and shook my hand while saying "That name sounds made up." We talked for about 10-15 minutes. He is just a great guy.

Bravo

I like to think I would have said "hey you're that guy that used to play for Forsaken's counter strike team"

i play CS (source) a good bit and i pretty much only play italy (ego servers; no awp). it's so slanted towards Ts it allows me to choose if i want mindless fun (as a T) or if i want to think and work with others (as a CT)

what's the obsession with this guy? I know he got his career cut short which sucks but this board is always talking about him.

No. Why? Because i'm not obsessed with Stuart Holden? He seems like a nice guy from what i've seen on tv. But that doesnt really explain obsession.

well he had a combination of (1) bright future (2) good looks, and (3) nerdy background that made him a fan favorite

then his career was cut short due to injury and he really became a cult/mythological icon
