Numbers can mean alot. The most noticable is going to be whomever get 11 an Man United. Now that Donovan has produced so much in the number its going to be seen (by me anyways) as whoever has the 10 is going to live up to his standards. I think its a great tradition that they dont retire numbers in soccer, that way young players can be the same number as thier heros and strive to play like them, and be better.

Maybe we acne score a few goals while they are still laughing.

We get it. The team is young.

Not really significant, but even for the U.S., our biggest star / best midfield attacker has often worn the 10. Reyna and Donovan come to mind.
Here's my best guess at the #s based on position, history or sheer guessing:
#1 - Tim Howard
#2 - DeAndre Yedlin
#3 - Matt Besler
#4 - Michael Bradley
#5 - Kyle Beckerman
#6 - Timmy Chandler
#7 - DaMarcus Beasley
#8 - Clint Dempsey
#9 - Aron Johannsson
#10 - Mix Diskerud
#11 - Alejandro Bedoya
#12 - Brad Guzan
#13 - Jermaine Jones
#14 - Brad Davis
#15 - John Brooks
#16 - Graham Zusi
#17 - Jozy Altidore
#18 - Nick Rimando
#19 - Chris Wondolowski
#20 - Geoff Cameron
#21 - Omar Gonzalez
#22 - Julian Green
#23 - Fabian Johnson

Embrace the new era of US soccer, bruh

So now the conspiracy come full circle. Green promised Jurgen he would play for the US if he went to the World Cup and had #10. Jurgen was all down for it, but Golden Boy Donovan, got in the way. So he had to be dealt with.

I really hope to see an ESPN report on this with SB listed as the source.

No idea why people have so much invested in a damn number. Who gets #10 is meaningless.
It should be saved until Beniesta comes of age.

I laugh at Germany just about everyday of my life, so I'll let them have this one.
