Working summer camp at my former high school. Made all the kids in my group (5-6 boys) sit and watch the end of the game. They went just as crazy as me and the other counselors.

I was at work and timed it so I could watch the second half. Then after what seemed like months of being razzed for racing to our break lounge to get the WC on before anyone else got there, and listening to the taunts about soccer sucks, I watched the greatest goal in US history. The 40 other people in there went crazy like I did. For God's sake, my grandmother called me balling crying screaming we did it, we did it. A very special sports moment for me.

I was in Barcelonnette, France, doing an immersion program. It's a tiny town of only 3,000 people, and me and the 10 other Americans in our group were at the only bar playing the game. There were two Algerians sitting in front of us also watching... and man were they starting to piss me off. When we got the goal everyone freaked, jumping up and down out of our seats, hugging and kissing each other, etc etc etc. It was pretty awesome.

I had JUST gotten home from the Philippines. I walked in the door and less than 5 minutes later Donovan scored.

I took the morning off from work. I judged my previous outbursts during the Slovenia game were not work appropriate. I ran around my apartment jumping up and down and screaming. Ended up on my stomach pounding the ground, not sure how I got there.

I was at work with no tv. My dad was keeping me updated.I was extremely pissed until he told me we scored. At that point I think I yelled. I had assumed the game was already over.

At Finn McCool's in NOLA. It was unfricking real.

Strangers hugging and kissing. It rnminded be of the picture of the sailor and girl taken in NYC on VJ Day was announced. A truly great moment.

ETA: Davis, CA is the only atmosphere comparable to Finn's in that video.

I hugged two dudes I didn't know, and a waitress.

Full on embrace.

Sorry to anyone affected.

Same. And I threw my chair. Easily one of the top 3 sports moments of my life.

Was working at PMRF in Kauai. Woke up at 3am with a few coworkers to watch it in the hotel lobby, turns out damn near everybody in that hotel was a soccer fan because we got down there and there were already a bunch of folks with mimosas and bloody marys. Got to the range a little late that day but it was well worth it.
