quote:Yeah. Played very sparingly for them this year, was mostly with their 2nd team. Made the bench quite a bit. They expect him to be with the 1st team full time next year. Their manager really likes him.
I don't know much about him. Isn't he at Benfica?
Had 6 goals and 6 assists in 29 games with the 2nd team. Was a sub in 4 league games for the 1st team. Was on the bench for 4 other league games.

Robinson looks like a really good left back prospect. He's fast, good going forward, and has good size and good limited on ball defense. He's been out of position once or twice but Bolivia is legit terrible.
McKennie was a bulldog.
Parks looked very intriguing. Big, but not clumsy. Really good athlete, aggressive, and read passing lanes well.
Weah is fast, confident, and very skilled. Took his goal well.
Sargent is lowkey a thiccboi. Good movement, great linkup with Weah, took his goal with power.
This is a pretty spot on assessment. I think Parks is an incredibly intelligent player, and I'm really excited to have a big guy like him with great technique launching long balls to our wingers. I was impressed by McKennie's aggression, but he needs to chill out a bit or he is going to start getting reds. Sargent is also a guy who you can tell has a pretty high soccer IQ already. All of our young players showed well tonight. The game was against a terrible team, but I like these games to get players in the rhythm of playing together and performing at a higher level. Looking forward to seeing these guys play together again, which is a far cry from how I've thought about the national team for the past few years.

Nice.

It’s encouraging to have multiple young guys to be exited about, instead of just the one-off stud like Pulisic or Green before him.

Benfica really likes Parks. He signed a new contract this year that takes him to the summer of 2022.

Pulisic was underwhelming yet again. I hope he gets his shite together on his break, because by and large this has been a wasted season for him with no real progression post the World Cup failure. Antonee Robinson was impressive and so was sargeant. Weah had some bright moments, and some moments he ruined opportunities. Defense wasn’t really tested nor was goal. There’s a calmness parks plays with that I like. Looking forward to seeing more from him. McKennie was fairly quiet.

Not going to disagree, but he probably shouldn't have even played. Dude needs a break, its obvious he was worn down.
So I wouldn't say underwhelming yet again, he was only 18 and pretty much carrying the offense during qualifying.

While true, he’s more or less looked like he did tonight ever since the World Cup failure. And honestly I kind of expected a little more from him considering this was the first time he put the USA jersey back on since that failure.
I get that this was a meaningless friendly at the end of a long grueling year with major disappointments and set backs, but a lot will be asked of him every year from here on out, so I hope he get s the break he deserves, enjoys his time off and gets his shite straight for next season where hopefully he will show some progression.

I was pissed the Edson Buddle pain train never left the station in South Africa.

He has been pretty open about being in a bad mental state following that game, and coupled with all of the Dortmund drama, I’m sure the kid (key word) is mentally destroyed. As someone said earlier he needs some cheeseburgers and video games for a few weeks. Hopefully over the next month or two everything about his future clears up.
For everyone talking about Robinson’s speed, how promising does the future look with him and Yedlin at LB and RB? Seems like a good pair that could do what Real does with Marcelo and Carvajal having them get up in attack way more than most defenders.

Don’t forget Pulisic is also not a CM. So he’s fricking exhausted and we were asking him to play the in the middle
I will echo what’s been said. Weah and Sergeant had some great link up play. Rubin was active. Corona disappeared for long stretches. McKennie is straight legit. Brings a level of energy to the midfield we have been missing since 2014 Jermaine Jones. Zimmerman impressed. EPB was untested. Same for Bono. Lichaj was solid. Robinson could be MotM. Great ball on Weahs goal.
Looking forward at the midfield for next year. Bradley is still our best 6. If you put McKennie and Adams next to him in box to box roles in a three man midfield with their energy it would add what we were missing in qualifying. To me we still don’t have a 10 so don’t force it.

I know you aren't comparing the two, but I think Robinson will be better than Yedlin.

Which is a very exciting prospect to have. We have some very good, very young defenders getting time in Europe right now.

Pulisic was great in that role in WCQ.
Our best lineup right now is
Jozy
Saief-Pulisic-Nagbe
Bradley-McKennie
Robinson-Brooks-Miazga-Yedlin
Steffen

That's probably correct. We have about 4 guys that can make a claim to #1 GK.

The great news about that being, in my opinion, our best XI is that the average age of that squad is still just 23 years old. I know shite looks bad right now, but we're on the cusp of a potentially very good generation of talent establishing itself once the 2022 cycle starts.
Jozy (28)
Saief (24)
Pulisic (19)
Nagbe (27)
Bradley (30)
McKennie (19)
Robinson (20)
Brooks (25)
Miazga (22)
Yedlin (24)

Against some pretty bad teams mind you. I just think he is most effective on the wing running at FBs and disrupting the back line in that manner. Give me this 4-3-3 with a high energy press and create from disrupting and counters
Wood/Saief....Jozy.....Pulisic
.....McKennie.......Adams....
............Bradley..........
Robinson..Brooks..Miazga...Yedlin

Imma need Nagbe on the field.

I mean, it was CONCACAF teams and we're mostly going to be playing CONCACAF teams. It just comes down to Pulisic being our most dynamic player, by far, and I want that player to have the ball at his feet the most and putting him in a central attacking role accomplishes that.
