Pulisic makes his 1st appearance since Trinidad.
Pulisic and McKennie expected to play together for the 1st time for the senior team. The two are pretty close friends and get together at least once a week in Germany.

Really enjoyed watching McKennie this year for Schalke.
However, I still have a pretty sour taste in my mouth pertaining to the USMNT.
Hate to admit it, but i'll probably be watching Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals instead tonight.

What are we hoping for out of this game? Just experience and some decent looking attack?

What kind of formation we going with here?
4-5-1?
4-5-1?

Probably some form of a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3.

Pretty much. Bolivia brought an even more inexperienced team than we did. Miazga, EPB, and CCV will probably play big roles in this cycle, (especially if Brooks can't stay healthy) so getting them some reps together will be nice. Hopefully see Pulisic and McKennie link up some. Get a good 1st look at Parks. See of Robinson is good enough to take minutes from Villafaña. Either Sargent or Novakovich will get a good run out, but I don't see either getting a ton of minutes with the full squad until later in the cycle (as long as Jozy can stay not that injured).

Hoping to see what Sargent can do. Tough to have any idea since he has no senior club minutes but I'm hopeful.

So who out of those mids are defensive? Im assuming Parks and Guido? Cause i really have no clue who those two are.
McKennie strikes me as a true box2box player, but ive only watched him play a few times.

Any predictions on the lineup? I curious to see who plays LM. The only two I know for certain are Green and Pulisic who can can play there, but both are better in the middle.

quote:I'd say Parks and Guido. McKennie can play there as well, if we want to make Corona the B2B CM. McKennie is a B2B type, but he's much closer to a DM than an AM (0 goals and assists this season).

Horvath, Robinson, Miazga, EPB, Lichaj, Parks, McKennie, Pulisic, Green, Novakovich, Weah.

I’m actually looking forward to these games so we can see who is ready to step up. For too long we put too much stock in “international experience” instead of letting well established clubs vet our players for us (see: McKennie not getting called in while being a regular starter for Schakle). I hope going forward we have more of a “nobody’s spot is guaranteed” philosophy.

We played T&T on October 11. Up til that point, McKennie had only started 3 games, and he had to miss Schalke's game on Oct 14 due to an injury.
