My god Man U have some issues defensively. Taking Pogba off for Fred was stupid. Holding the ball and being able to progress it is a defensive tactic in its own right.

He was but the move to make would have been Greenwood for DvB, who makes both vertical and horizontal runs off the ball, and thus requires less accurate passing than balls played directly to feet. DvB also is more willing to track back and has endless energy. Brighton had free reign to recycle the ball in the middle of the field. Contest that area, pin the wings back, and run vertical at the first sign of a change of possession.
