I agree that some of the roster shuffling is getting old, but it's like people don't realize this is probably a Top 5 team in terms of talent in the world. I never got the idea that it was an uninspired performance either.

nor did I, in fact I thought we did fairly well trying to hold possession and play attacking football. we were out talented, simple as that.

Freak out when the close to 100% team plays like crap against Jamaica or Panama.

Like having a full squad losing to Honduras, playing pathetic against Jamaica and losing, playing pathetic against Canada ? I understand that in the past we've played bad against these teams. However, we've played some of our worst games EVER against these teams under JK.

We have the players and the resources to be one of the top 2 CONCACAF teams. We don't play like it, at times. Unfortunately, Mexico has underachieved. They need to start winning out. It'd help us.

I mean it happens. I'm not saying can Jurgen but with me he is on a thin line. I think he can do some good things, but so far. It's mostly bad in terms of team dynamics/chemistry. IMO.

I think Jurgen can help the youth teams. However, none of you can realistically say the the prior set up was bad. We've produced some pretty good talent. The MLS academies are finally in place. MLS is a big part of US Soccer and we haven't had that for long. Most of us are older than the MLS. It takes some time. Jurgen or no Jurgen. If he wants to work on the US infrastructure, he should be technical director. Which I think he'd be good at.

As far as coach, playing with no width, alienating players, having an ego, having no tactics, perhaps losing a locker room, having a team that lacks fundamentals (which isn't an intl managers job as much), lacks team chemistry, lacks continuity to improve team chemistry, and he lacks team leadership.

No one is complaining that we lost to Belgium. Like DS has said, its the way we are performing. We can do better. We aren't. We have problems, some are addressed whereas some are blatantly disregarded. What is main reason fans turned against Bob? Tactics (bobball), problems disregarded, call ups?

Granted, whoever coaches is going to have SOME of these same problems. But, JK hasn't done a swell job and I can see that.

I really wish we had just hired JK as a technical director and not as coach. If he could get some decent coaching talent on his staff I would feel much more comfortable, but a failed Chivas USA coach is not very comforting.

Haha touché, but there is no such thing on the international stage.
If it was club ball, then sure, th adaption rout would be equivalent to busting out the checkbook and buying some stars to power the team. Can't do that for the USMNT

stubear

quote:

What may have been equally as memorable for the 27-year-old Holden as completing his comeback to the national team fold were the uplifting words Klinsmann gave him prior to sending him onto the field. Klinsmann once again applauded Holden’s attitude during his lengthy injury saga and that instilled plenty of confidence in the veteran as he walked over to the fourth official at midfield to check into the game. “He just said, ‘Congratulations and you’ve worked hard for this, so go out and enjoy it,’” Holden told SBI. “That’s kind of the mindset I’d had going forward, so to hear that from him and all the encouragement that I’ve had from in terms of him reinforcing me and keeping me positive, it really makes me want to go out there not only for myself but to perform for him as a coach and reward that belief that he has in me as a player.”

Yeah, Jurgen has really lost the lockerroom

also, Stu and jermaine jones have been tweeting pictures and what not of them two hanging out since they've both arrived in the states. So much for the Germericans being standoffish.

One thing I read that I did't like is that Jurgy said Deuce is our captain for the foreseeable future with Howard as the no.2...

Why the frick is Michael Bradley not wearing the captains band?

I had no idea Dempsey's sister had passed. I was clearly just making a point via hyperbole.

More experienced players ahead of him, moments of immaturity in the past. MB will get his time, though.

Can't argue with any of that, good points. I'm guessing he'll be the torch bearer after deuce and donovan and howard hang it up?

Didnt read thread, want to know why op thinks if we dont make it to brazil, why hiring a new coach now would change that? Belgium has way more talent than us. What were yall expecting?

We arent winning a world cup overnight. Our talent pool isnt good enough.
