Russian FA official "Racially abused players need to keep control"

This is going to sound bad, but here goes. Players get abused constantly by fans. Pretty much every professional player, at some point, has endured some sort of verbal abuse aimed at him by a fan or groups of fans. Unless a player feels like could he actually be in some sort of physical danger, whether the abuse is racially charged or not, he should ignore it and do his job. Walking off the pitch, or "gesturing" at fans, or causing a stoppage in the game should not be allowed. But, as I said, this is assuming the player feels the abuse is escalating to a point where he could be in actual danger.

thats just false in the places these closed door matches happen its way more than 10% of the crowd involved in this.

You are using an apples to oranges comparison

its much easier to punish idiots in England in the game b/c you get ejected and banned right away and if they do it outside the ground they are found out pretty easy.

Places like Russia it is the entire Ultra sections doing this and they are the life blood of the club. While regular supporter dont speak up against them. These Ultra groups have fascist, neo nazi and all kind of ties. That and their clubs don't seem to care.

Blatter himself said massive point deductions or relegation should be considered. Now I don't trust him to ever follow through with such penalties, but he should.

Like SCH said, the clubs with the biggest problems have far more than 10% contributing to this behavior. The Ultras in the Boulogne and Auteuil stands at PSG controlled the stadium for nearly 2 decades with little consequence, which drove away the common fan.

PSG finally grew some balls and banned all these groups from the ground, but unfortunately, there are still willfully ignorant clubs out there. FIFA should cripple a team in the league table if the club won't clean up its own mess. That would turn more heads than a fine and a couple of closed-door matches.

I just like that the CSKA Moscow manager is named "Slutsky" I hope he doesn't have any daughters living in the US or Britain

What are they supposed to "speak up" about? It's not like it's a secret. Some Average Joe dad with a family at home isn't going to confront a group of ultras and ended up getting maimed over it and he shouldn't be expected to or punished for not doing so.

If the block where families sit turn their backs or whistle when when the Ultras start acting racist that alone can send a message.

The average fan is totally separated from the Ultras so there is no way they will get in a confrontation during the match.

The ultras would literally have to scale fences and fight off cops to get to the regular fans
