That would be a little disappointing.

We could do worse. We could also do better.

Your post makes no sense. A) he’s not Mexico’s reject as he turned down their extension. B) they fire a ton of managers. And in the past 25 years, the only guys with a similar tenure are la Volpe and Aguirre. So he was able to hold on to a job where people routinely get fired after a few bad games and you think that’s a bad thing.

He is a reject, and he is trash. JK to Arena to Osorio. He has never coached a meaningful team besides Mexico. Besides that the best team he has coached is Sao Paulo.

Now that we have a good grip of players playing in Europe for mid to top table clubs. Why in the world would our Euro guys respect him as a manager. He has done nothing to warrant being our manager. This is just as bad as Bruce Arena. We aren't headed in a good direction if we can not get a quality manager.

EDIT: Not to mention the only team he coached that had a positive win percentage is Mexico. He has a 44.77 win percentage over his entire career. Please lets sign him up, so we can fail qualifying for another world cup. For comparison JK has a career 56.42 win percentage. If we are not going to get a better coach than JK, what is the point of all of this.

I think the negative to this would be his constant tinkering. We hated JK always changing formations, tactics ,etc. This guy does it far more often, and outside of Jermaine playing as a CB, has even crazier ideas than JK.

You can fire him, if he doesn't win games, some of you do realize that?

If you know he is going to be trash before you hire him, that is a waste of time right?

It'd be nice if you could know that, but you can't.

I think the two are very different. JCO thinkers because he thinks he can exploit certain deficiencies he sees in the other team. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. JK tinkered because he could or because he wanted to take his own team out of their comfort zone.

You can go and look up his career as a manager, and see he will never make the USA a contender in a world cup. If the manager has coached soley in North and South America, he is simply not up to par. Not when we have the talent the USMNT has coming through the pipeline, breaking into starting 11's all over Europe. The players that can potentially get us into contending in a world cup, are being taught much more advanced tactics than what Osorio can provide. When you have players coming in from BvB, Shalke, Bayern, Vattise, Everton, and the list goes on. You would be asking them to dumb down on the tactics that can be employed with a manager like Osorio. We need to play to win, not play to draw. Osorio, like Arena plays for draws more than he plays to win. You can't build a winning culture when half the games you play, you set the team goal to be a draw.

Feel the same. Ultimately feel pretty meh about if it’s him.

ETA: I was hoping for a hire that was going to match the the same level of excitement I have for the younger talent coming up.
