That is the reason the last games of each group are played at the same time.

They're friends... And the US is way less of a threat to Germany than Ghana or Portugal in the knock out rounds. Just saying.

The most important thing is to make it to next round. Second is try to get the higher seed.

Germany stomping Portugal means they have the upper hand in tie breaker unless Ghana stomps Portugal as well (at least that is what i can figure).

Tie really would be in Germany's favor unless Port realizes that and throws the Ghana match so Germany will get the lower seed.

It wouldn't matter. Even if Ghana beat Portugal 10 to 1, Germany would have 5 points if they draw the US. Ghana would have 4. Both Germany and the US will advance if they draw, regardless of what happens in the other match. The other match will not affect Germany's goal differential.

I was talking about Germany's position as #1 seed. If USA and Germany tie, is there any way US gets the higher seed?

If the goal for the Americans was to make it out of group play then we should consider making a deal with the Germans (Though Historically that was been a bad idea ).

The goal is to fricking win it all! There are steps; one being win the group (if not, 2nd). IMO, they should go out trying to beat Germany, not tie.

If we allow them to reclaim the Sudetenland, you think they'll agree to a draw? Probably won't backfire if history teaches us anything.

Exactly the goal is to win it all AND NOT win your group. Cant win it all if u dont make it out of your group.
