The thread is about what league is better. Your retort to the assertion that EPL>SPL is that Hearts should have won against Liverpool. Since we're talking about what league is better, and you used that to support your argument, I can see no other conclusion for your point other than Hearts are better than Pool.

No, it means that not every team in the SPL is composed of part-time players which would be beaten 30-0 by an Ajax or Dinamo.

ETA:

The anti-SPL bias on here is amazing. The Turkish, Greek, Danish, and Belgian leagues are complete shite. The Ukrainian League, although it has a couple of teams which are on the level of a Celtic or a Spartak, is well below the quality of the other leagues you listed in the list quoted above and has absolutely horrendous pitches.

Just look at the rosters of EPL clubs. Sunderland, Wigan, Southampton, Reading, Liverpool, just to name a few, are full of SPL failures. And did you forget the terrible time Pool had of qualifying against fricking Hearts?

ETA2: And did you miss my list of leagues? The SPL =/= EPL.

1. La Liga
2. EPL
3. Bundesliga
4. Serie A
5. Ligue 1
6. Russian Premier League
7. Primeira Liga (Portugal)
8. Eredivisie
9. Mexico
10/11/12 (tie). Scottish Premier League/MLS/Argentina

I'm not going to argue with you because, above all else, it truly does give me a headache (not trolling either).

I do think you putting the SPL in the top 10 leagues on the planet is quite delusional (and hilarious), and they would struggle to make my top 15. Of course, it's my opinion and I don't know anything outside of England. I'm not even sure how I know that much to be honest.

A lot of clubs are filled with failures from all over the planet. Liverpool alone have swung and missed on players from La Liga, the Eredivisie, Serie A, SPL, EPL and the Belgian Pro League recently.

I agree, which is why your point about Liverpool almost losing to an SPL team, in a discussion about what league is best, leads to the conclusion I came to.

I can't help it if you inherently contradict yourself.

lol what? Who said 30-0?

I'm not saying the SPL would be steam rolled, but I would expect frequent losses by 2 goals in most matches against the teams from the leagues in question.

The thread had changed to whether the SPL was good at all. Bho said 3 teams from MLS could come in and walk the league and others had said idiotic things like the Danish league was better. The post where I first mentioned the Pool-Hearts tie was in response to Beast declaring that 6 leagues were better than the SPL. If a shitty team like Hearts can play well against Liverpool, then the league probably isn't the complete shite that this board imagines it to be.

IMO, after the top 6 or so leagues, most of the others mass together so 7-25 are on the same general level.

Well then I understand. I thought your point was in reference to the thread. Hence why I thought it was lunacy.

I'm just starting to get annoyed with the general idiocy of this board toward me. I mean, FFS, I post a thread mocking Celtic's new signing for trying a somersault and falling on his arse and I get 10-12 "no one gives a shite" posts. Bho makes a thread hours after I've logged off retaliating for perceived trolling in the match thread (of which there was none until he jumped in with abortion references for no reason, and the "trolling" by me was just making fun of the excitement in Chelsea matches since February or so), and in that thread he lies about me and what I've done on the board. It's getting annoying.

My responses to you generally have nothing to do with your opinions on this board.

With that said, I still don't think the SPL is a top 10 league and I would probably have a few leagues in front of them outside of the top 10.

Obviously I think you are a bit biased to the league (as I am to the EPL), but I don't think it is a good league by any stretch.

For me it comes down to 2 categories:

1. How good are the top teams in each league?

2. What is the parity/disparity like throughout each league?

Since the SPL's top team isn't all that competitive when compared to other league leaders, and the parity simply isn't there, it makes it hard to put them above other leagues.

That is why I have the leagues in Belgium, Ukraine, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey ahead of the SPL. Those leagues either have (a) better teams at the top or (b) more parity. (in my opinion, of course)

Single stupidest thing you posted the whole thread. Good job.

Portugal is a one team league

Sporting Lisbon, Porto, Benifica, and Braga all have recently had different degrees of success in Europe.

I guess no one on this board knows anything about European football.

Of course, because I posted that, you will all not read it and claim I'm an idiot.

I have already read plenty of posts to confirm you are an idiot. Just because you support a team doesn't mean they are the best or in the best league. By your way of thinking Wigan fans ought to believe that they are a top 4 team.

You didn't even name the best 2 teams in Portugal, the Netherlands or Russia.

But I still think those teams are equal to or better than Shakhtar/Dinamo. So if there are "better" Portuguese, Dutch and Russian teams, it just helps prove my point even further. I don't think any of the teams I mentioned are worse than any Ukrainian team.

Please don't flatter Bhoy.

I'm not, I'm just agreeing him on this one point. I know that doing this is a cardinal sin to a good bit of people, but I actually think this.

Yeah, I forgot that Kiev and Shakhtar were the two powers in Ukraine. I'm not as educated internationally as the rest of you. I usually stick to watching EPL, MLS and Serie A. But outside of those two clubs, what does Ukraine have?

Yeah, I don't like it when Bhoy goes off on these anti-Rangers, super-political rants on this board. I'm an advocate of "in the big picture, it's just a sport".

But that doesn't mean everything he says is 100% wrong. I'm agreeing with him here. I still think he goes overboard with his Celtic/anti-Rangers stuff, but this is what I think.

Again, I haven't watched a league game in the Ukrainian or even the Russian leagues, so my opinion's probably worthless.
