US soccer will always suck when former American players who didn’t amount to shite are in charge and involved.

Kinda awkward that this interview, where he is calling Claudio and Danielle childish, comes out right before he and Gio head to camp.

Telling them all that it's his team and they need to GTF in line.

I think Pulisic just wants any coach at this point and doesn't want another 2018 lost year. Can't remember where it was, but he did mention last year how not hiring a manager for all of 2018 hurt the program because there was no direction with Sarachen as the interim.

With all that said, if the USSF was going to keep Gregg, they would've done it by now. The investigation now over, so there is no reason why he wouldn't be coaching this nations league camp if the plan is for him to be the coach this cycle.

We're getting a new coach.

It's well documented that Pulisic is a shitty interview. I'd read more into his words than his body language considering this is the most he has ever said in front of camera.

I know you don't believe me because you think I'm carrying water for Gregg and are worried that Gregg will be hired. I'm here to tell you that you can unclinch the a-hole, Gregg isn't coming back.

But, again, this is the most honest and blunt shite Pulisic has ever said.

quote:

“There were moments when he benched me and I wanted to kill the guy — I hated him, I was so angry — but then the next game comes along, and then I find myself in a better place,” he said. “The way he handled a lot of situations, I have to give him a lot of credit.”

pulisic should be more worried about getting minutes in a League, any league, and for once, staying healthy, than the coaching search.

I’m saving this for the future when our GM hiring process takes too long and we wait even longer for a coach only to panic hire Gregg Berhalter for the second time.

Seems pretty honest to me, almost prepared. Certainly the most eloquently I’ve seen him speak in an interview. A lot of Twitter and this board are seething though because it doesn’t fit the GGG hate fest narrative.

While I don't agree that we should bring back Gregg, Matt Doyle had a very thorough twitter thread about the ridiculousness of our fanbase and their irrational hatred for the man.

It definitely won't change anyone's mind on this board, but as always, more context is key.

I still see people here quoting Van Gaal as if that shite wasn’t immediately taken out of context by the haters
quote:

people went nuts with an out-of-context Van Gaal quote after the loss to the Netherlands when he said “the USMNT didn’t adjust,” but the full context was “they’re playing so well coming into the game and they played so well, they didn’t adjust and were right not to.”
