Even complete economic collapse wouldn't thwart the European teams too much. They might have a hiccup for a generation, but that's what we would need for us to catch up. Our last hope is we have some soccer loving billionaire who wants to front the money for all the infrastructure changes we need. This actually seems pretty likely, or more likely, as opposed to hoping for complete economic collapse.

MLS has money. They are growing. They are growing fast. And the young generation is growing up loving soccer, instead of football and baseball solely

this post alone says you are clueless to the world and its football
WTF
Everything in that first quote is 100% factual and completely undeserving of your retort.
You are much, much better than this Homy.
The US is going to have one of the top football leagues in the world in the future. It WILL happen.

Considering every MLS team has a TV deal in their region. + nationally televised games.
You're absolutely wrong
I'm talking nationally televised games.

One brick at a time.
I like the diverse ownership coming into the league.
I like the foreign money flooding into the league from Europe, South America, and the Middle East.
I like Beckham buying in.
I like TV viewership growing.
I like continued growth in youth soccer.
I like homegrown heroes like Mike Magee that were groomed in the US.
I like the soccer stadiums.
I like kids growing their skills in Europe too.
It's a multi-faceted strategy. We aren't going to put all the eggs in a single basket.

Not reading 15 pages. This just rustles my jimmies to no end.
I was hoping he'd move to Craven Cottage, it would have been a sweet deal for Fulham, and he would slot into the midfield quite well with Scott Parker. This defies logic, however.
GABlueDog, I don't watch much MLS, these days, but I've been a "supporter" from the beginning, and do want to see it succeed. But for one of our best players, in his prime, to come to MLS in the spring of a World Cup year? I Just. Don't. Get it.

If the rumors are true, I'm now even more interested to see the rest of the moves made by teams this offseason, mainly teams like SKC, Portland, and others that are willing to spend money. Surely not gonna be standing pat now. Though Portland already added Gastón Fernández, which was a great signing, to be fair.

First the league will need to ditch the playoff system
Go to the euro league schedule
Build 50k+ stadiums, so on and so on
Ditch the salary cap
