This board doesnt need to give him credit.
Kind of proving my point here.

Yeah but the ceiling was potentially higher

Happy with 4 of 5 cup games. Yes more could have been done. Wasn’t perfect. But winning a knockout game down a player was big.

Backups going well against Turkey

Grinding out Australia. Whipping Paraguay.

We had four performances that we usually are lucky to get 2 of in a cup.

So Poch gets credit for this, but Gregg gets no credit for us outplaying England?

Would have never bet on him returning. Was convinced he would be gone after the WC.

Love to be wrong about this. Let's ride.

Ceiling has been the same, we were under the illusion it was higher. We’ve been a 3rd tier team for a couple cycles, if Poch can stick around for the entirety of the contract, elevate us into a 2nd tier type team in the next cycle (5-10 ranking) and win the domestic trophies, I will consider it a success,

I'm interested to see what he can do with a full cycle. More time to fully vet the pool and integrate the next generation. Doesn't have to spend time on his "cultural reset".

My biggest con is recruitment of dual nationals.

In 2024 Poch said that he didn't feel the need to push players too hard to represent the USMNT.

"We don't need to convince [players]," Pochettino said. "A player needs to want to play for the national team."

We are not a hot bed of developing talent in USA.
Even nations like Germany France Morocco etc have dual nationals.
Yamal is a dual narional.

Some of our best players are dual nationals.

The biggest gripe I've seen has been the players are soft, spoiled, don't care. I think that's what he's getting at, getting players that would die for the crest, not just a dual nat that wouldn't make their primary nations team.

It is a two way street though, some of those dual nat's who get looked over have a big chip on their shoulder, and a desire to prove everyone wrong.
