Côte d’Ivoire-Senegal
Ethiopia – Nigeria
Tunisia – Cameroon
Ghana – Egypt
Burkina Faso - Algeria
Well hopefully bob can knock our arch nemesis out before they even make the cup.

He won't have Ricardo Clark in the lineup this time.

Algeria and Burkino Faso
Brilliant matchup.
Meanwhile, a legitimately competitive Ghana or Egypt won't make the World Cup Finals.

Yeah, CAF's qualifying format is fricked.
Imagine if the US finished top of the hex and then had to play Costa Rica in a home/home series. Sheesh.

Pretty terrifying when you say it that way.

Algeria
Don't know how much we should dog Algeria. It took a stoppage time goal for us to beat them last time out.

How does CAF qualifying work? Does the winner of each of these ties make the World Cup or is there more to it?

Yep, they play a home and home.
Bob and Egypt got fricked.

Yeah and terrible officiating since Dempsey's goal got ruled back.
Two legit goals called back in the group stages of the World Cup for one team is pretty fricking pitiful.

I was afraid that Egypt would get screwed in the group play. Africa needs to chance their system because they are allowing good teams to stay home while others go to the cup thanks to how they were grouped. They should find a way to have a hex like we have.

Nigeria got a great draw. Tunisia-Cameroon seems fair.
Burkina Faso-Algeria. Wow. The two worst teams drew each other, leading to nightmare draws for Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, and Ivory Coast.

A more fair system I thought of. Split the teams into 2 groups. Top two from each group advance and the 3rd place team in each group go into a playoff. Kinda like how the Asian confederation works I believe.

Am i the only one that thinks that looks rigged as hell?
Looks like its built to get Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria through. And to give Egypt the toughest possible matchup.

Unless the rigging was done exclusively by Nigerians, I don't think so. 4 of the top 6 teams got screwed. Cameroon also got a fairly tough team from the second pot.

Why wouldn't they just seed based on ranking. Ridiculous that Egypt has to play Ghana.

They put the top 5 fifa ranked teams in one pot, and the other 5 in another. Unfortunately you can get the 1st and 6th teams against each other and the 5th and 10th teams against each other. Plus fifa rankings get suspect pretty quickly.
